Klou 2,414
If it wasn't for Roar she'd be at #1 with a 0.3 lead. But I'm just remembering our predictions. Most of them were like Applause 1.000 Roar 0.500 Blurred Lines 0.400 Wake Me Up 0.100 Those predictions were with it being released next week, not this week. Bye 3,947
How was Roar doing in the same time frame as Applause is now?
nick4bty 2,758
I love how everyone has said this. Everyone has said this Applause will hit #1 eventually. But when it will do that is up in the air. Could be tonight, could be tomorrow, or could be (definitely will be) next week. How was Roar doing in the same time frame as Applause is now? You can't compare them. lol. That's ridiculous
SomethingMore 1,701
We should be getting update any minute on kworb.
Morphine Prince 106,063
damn it's only been 18 hours Lol, this. It's #2 and people are already saying it flopped
nick4bty 2,758
We can't sit here and compare the two. Her previous debut came off the heels of an ENORMOUS hot streak, major public hype, and the Grammys. She's gone through a backlash since then and she's been out of the spotlight for quite some time, and has had to prematurely start the single a week early. The song is doing very well and it just started. Yupp. And why would we prefer a frontloaded release rather than one that carries through the week? I would much rather see 100k sold each day rather than 300k sold the first day and 75k sold the rest of the week.
Hamlet 67
How was Roar doing in the same time frame as Applause is now? Worst.
Guest
We can't sit here and compare the two. Her previous debut came off the heels of an ENORMOUS hot streak, major public hype, and the Grammys. She's gone through a backlash since then and she's been out of the spotlight for quite some time, and has had to prematurely start the single a week early. The song is doing very well and it just started. I am well aware of the factors that made it possible for Born This Way to debut impressively good and for Applause to not re-do what BTW did in its first day on iTunes. But at the end it is Lady Gaga. Those predictions were with it being released next week, not this week. I know? :) I find it funny how a lot of people here underestimated Katy and nobody did see this pop music emergency mess coming :)
pie-kun 1,765
Mexico update: 0.9698 (+0.542) She's almost there, keep buying!
Dangerous Man 9,245
We all knew Katy was going to be heavy competition. That's because she released it one day before Applause so her song isn't losing momentum yet. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."
