The vulgarity and NSFW nature got higher, but the quality of the show went down. What made the first season so good was the fact that they had to be creative with what they were given. Having no limitations leads to more possibilities, but sometimes with art limitations force the creator to really max out the potential of what they've been given, leading to a better finished product.  Coven just has a lot of flip-flopping, every episode having someone saying they could be the next Supreme, stuff that just seems extra, etc.  HOWEVER. This season's opening slays every opening I have ever seen in my life. Those visuals are gorgeous and horrifying- I adore them.
