well in coven one of the girls has a killing vagina and there was mother-son incest.

Also in asylum theres an adult breast feeding scene

:cryga:

It could be so much better without all those s-xual references.

I guess Asylum is the less s-xual. But there's an addicted to masturbation and a nymphomaniac so :flop:

Maybe I'll skip to it.  :deadbanana:

How do you know? You haven't even seen the series. The uncomfortable feeling you get from it is the whole point in the show.. It's not a show that's going to always make you feel all warm and fuzzy in side with a bunch of rainbows.

Redstreak

I was rewatching tonight's episode and my mom came in at the part where LaLaurie was doing the "this little piggy" thing with the guy's foot and she just called the show garbage and left. :rip:

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Literally this. One of season 1's biggest horror factors is the psychos-xual factor. If you don't like explicit shows, American Horror Story just isn't for you, gurl. If you can't handle the s-x scenes, you definitely won't be able to handle the violence, mutilation etc. Also, Asylum and Coven use the whole psychos-xual thing waayyy less but it's still there. Asylum had multiple scenes of masturbation from what I can remember.

Is this serious? I'm being judged because I want a series with less s-xual perversion?

This shows how our world has changed.I will not even answer the indirects I received on this thread.

Coven's becoming such a damn mess. I've begun to think every door in the damn house is being listened in on by at least one to three others characters at every moment, due to the amount of sudden 'bursting in' moments there are. The fact no character can stay dead for more than one episode also it getting to me. Not to mention how every new scene seems to involve a characters 360 degree turn into a new plot/belief/idea. Nothing seems to flow, everything is just 'I know, I'M GOING TO DO THIS'.

It's like Zoe's absolutely awful plans and ideas in the first half of the series, it's just cringe-inducing.

Goodness, I'm really loosing faith in Coven. Asylum stands miles above it at this rate for me.

I agree that Coven is the weakest of the three. The vulgarity and NSFW nature got higher, but the quality of the show went down. What made the first season so good was the fact that they had to be creative with what they were given. Having no limitations leads to more possibilities, but sometimes with art limitations force the creator to really max out the potential of what they've been given, leading to a better finished product.

Coven just has a lot of flip-flopping, every episode having someone saying they could be the next Supreme, stuff that just seems extra, etc.

HOWEVER. This season's opening slays every opening I have ever seen in my life. Those visuals are gorgeous and horrifying- I adore them.

I don't think anyone is trying to judge you, bb. We all have different tolerance levels for things. I think a lot of people are just saying that even though there are things about the show that make you uncomfortable, they play a part in the show and the seasons wouldn't be the same without them. If the show isn't for you, that's totally fine- no judgment. :)

Ty, Kayla!

I'm here saying those things because I enjoyed the show and the most of the plots, the only problem is that some scenes (with a high s-xual content) are just expendable and the show does not lose the quality, as some here were claiming.

In Coven there were some s-xual things that were more EXTRA than necessary (like the incest scenes- they were disturbing, but only really played into one character's development for a very short period of time and then it was just tossed aside- HAD they done MORE with it, it'd be better and a good character development thing, but they kinda didn't, Madison trying to get a threesome out of ZombieBoy and Zoe, etc.), but in the first season the s-xuality is necessary. The husband and wife are dealing with the husband's cheating past, so the maid there to tempt him adds stress to that, and the wife's s-xual needs but aversion to her husband is also important.

And the s-xuality of Asylum is also pretty necessary, because of the s-xual limitations placed on religious people, how taboo homos-xuality was when the show was set, etc. etc.

So...I think there are some s-x scenes that could have been replaced with something more relevant to the storyline and character development, or at least could have been elaborated on better. But there are times in the series where it is very much an essential part of the storyline.

Depends how you look at it. There are probably other people who wish there was more s-xual development but think the violence is too much. :P

Well pointed, every TV Serie has flaws and in this case the s-xuality is a little too much to handle.

I'm giving a chance and It's not like I can not skip the explicit parts. Last night, I randomly watched the episode 10 of Coven (the last episode aired here in Brasil) and I think it flowed more in my opinion, there was nothing so s-xually explicit, only Emma Roberts character, who was being mentally controlled and almost put a cigarette in her vagina.

 That was so funny!

I like that you're giving it a chance and not letting your disliking of the s-xual stuff ruin your ability to appreciate the show. :)

Sorry if I came off shady to anyone. I didn't mean to...  :ohno:
AHS is just such an extreme show that it just won't be to everyone's taste.
Also, completely agree about the unneeded s-xuality in Coven. Every storyline that's tried to be psychos-xual has literally lead nowhere and had no real point. The date rape situation, maybe excusable. The incest and the three-somes? Pointless. Kyle barely seemed to be affected by his history of abuse and the three-somes are just a grab for Zoe screentime. Just Coven trying to stir the pot a little when there's nothing edgy going on and then tossed aside when Lange or someone had something better to do.
