You and I seem to have had similar judgement with the series so far, so I'll probably be disappointed with Coven as well. January 8th is a whole month away, too… I better make these next few episodes last. personally I would rank it Asylum=Coven>Murder House though they've all been great. Asylum is just as random as it can get with asylums, nuns, monsters and aliens but was pulled off really well.
