I think this image would have been a great ALBUM cover for ARTPOP.

I kinda wish it was, unless Gaga has something even better in mind for the album cover, but it would be hard to top this!

I love the image! But I HATE that we're already seeing Gaga backlash again. Went on worldofwonder.net and already saw a rude article and rude comments about the image :(

not impressed. the whole Pierrot concept has been undoubtedly rehashed in pop music many times. where's the effort? meh

It's not new, but aren't you interested in what Lady Gaga's take on it may be?

 

I do cringe that Gaga's inspirations as a fan are sitting upon her shoulder, in full view. When artists do this, it's too easy to call them out with copying others work. It's a common mistake that so many do make and I think it runs ruin in each path. It elevates the old and makes the new not even a firm stepping stone in pop culture. All that gets left in the end is the new artist, as only a personality of a later decade and their work is not often noted.

I think that artists should not give their list of inspirations or their favorites, we shouldn't be able to even figure them out in our artists work, we might stumble upon thinking of one, but we should never be fully sure and should never be told. Artists should be more mysterious in their work and look for what their audience finds in it. If the artist is rolling off their inspirations, the audience will only see their favorite in a long line of those faces who've come before and that makes their artists face not have their own legacy, in the end.

Gaga does seem to be doing this last bit, asking the viewer, well, what do you see and hopefully, she will do the same with every other outlet of her artistry.

The cover is SO beautiful. It's absolutely amazing, if not hearing from her for a while had left me with any anxiety this has wiped it away; this woman knows what she's doing!
