They allowed her to pick all the singles, they just stopped her from releasing them after MTN because it didn't chart very well...and that might not even be true, Gaga may have just realized she was overexposed, so the 6+ single plan wasn't viable anymore. She doesn't have to do ANYTHING except release albums and go on tour while still under contract. But she is by far their biggest money maker and most successful artist; unless she releases a polka album and physically transforms herself into a sheep, they're FINE with whatever the **** she wants to do to promote her work (and even then, if it sells, it'd be good to them). Gaga talks all the time about how much freedom they give her. If her label controlled her, half the **** she did wouldn't be allowed. Gaga is an rock star who happens to sing pop music, not a pop star controlled by a corporation like the others. Actually, Gaga herself said the label interfered and didn't allow her to release the songs she saw fit. She basically said they had to compromise when she didn't really want to.
