Over the course of his wide-ranging career, he has also worked as a choreographer, performer, painter, sculptor, video artist, and sound and lighting designer. He is best known for his collaborations with Philip Glass on Einstein on the Beach, and with numerous other artists, including Heiner Müller, William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Lou Reed, Tom Waits, David Byrne, Laurie Anderson, Gavin Bryars, Darryl Pinckney, Rufus Wainwright, Marina Abramovic and Lady Gaga. And, in an odd way, I like the sense of danger of that. I mean look at these images. They're visually stunning and gripping but in odd way two of them are a bit lackluster. You know how Gaga writes or formulates every music video and gets help from directors to make sure her ideas are well translated, I think it might be the same now for all of her (major) performances and her tour Of course she will still need help with choreography from Richy, but that's like how she needs choreography in her music videos too. aaronyoji 2,054 Posted July 14, 2013 Share Posted July 14, 2013 all these artists that gaga is working with for ARTPOP is getting me nervous.. oh sweet little twink, these are big person artists. what they do is high end and avant garde. itll be amazing. here's what i think is going on: her and marina will do a performance art piece, robert will produce the set and help conceptualize it, jeff koons will make blunt objects into art pieces that will decorate the set or serve a certain purpose for the performance, and inez + vinoodh will either photograph it and direct it in a video. yes! its all coming together.
