Yet, It was her way to recieve your attention -----------> earning the fame ------> the ability to do what she loves. The main problem is that the controversies and the SHOCK ART became her only pattern and as much as you don't want to hear it, If there won't be any controversies or SHOCK ART, there will be no headlines from her. What started as an advantage became a BASE she cannot get rid of. Her MUSIC is now based on the amount of shocking controversies she can produce. The comments here proove that if she doesn't do anything strange in her music video, it will be a meltdown! If she won't "SLAY" the VMA with a shocking performance, it will be a meltdown! All these things show that people excpect from her the SHOW and unfortunately..not the ART. But afterall...thats the artist she became and that is why you are her AURA. I dislike comments like this because you make it seem like it's the fanbase's fault that if Gaga doesn't do something controversial, shocking, or different than the mainstream we will meltdown. That's not anyone's fault but Gaga's - she set the precedent. If all you give us is crazy, different, exciting, yeah we're going to 'meltdown' if we get something super mainstream or boring or basic. She always surprises us with unexpected things. But I'm crossing my fingers that it's going to sound amazing! I think it will change the way we all interpret pop music nowadays. Lab Rat 0 Posted July 22, 2013 Share Posted July 22, 2013 Poker face techincally was a lead single because when new artists start it is VERY rare that their first aong is the big album promoting single breakthrough, People listened to just dance and loved it but back then she was just another artist releasing a great pop song that was very popular, then poker face came out and it was like "ayo, i'm in this for real, not a one-hit wonder, buy my debut album, i'm gunna be huge."
