Haunts 7
About the 4th single assumption: NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. I don't know if you even READ that thing they posted with the release date, but it states specifically that ART will be returning to POP. The problem that Gaga is underlining here is that pop has only been about the money and material. It's time pop suffered a Warholian revolution: returning the importance of art to its rightful owner. People should get out of their heads that Gaga's biggest concern is to top charts. Personally I don't think she gives two sh*ts about singles or sales or whatever. She wants you to concentrate on the purest form of the ART of the album. ART comes before POP. It's not POPART. It's ARTPOP. She won't care if she'll be surpassed by her generic peers (note: nothing happened when Katy Perry surpassed her on Twitter). It's not what matters. What will matter this era is the relationship YOU will have with HER art. That is ALL. It's a disgrace people even care about charts. It goes against every value of ARTPOP. Oh my god, my thoughts exactly! I love you. Ya'll are too worried about how the record is gonna perform. Enjoy the experience. As long as Gaga earns enough to conceive her baldest ideas, then it's all that matters.

Don't try to act like charts and sales don't matter, they DO matter, especially when it comes to a pop artist. And, btw, do you even know what values ARTPOP has? And, btw, do you even know what values ARTPOP has? Clearly you didn't read. Charts and Sales matter LAST. . Charts don't matter... that'll explain why she does so much promo then. Sales don't matter... that'll explain why she pulls her budgets out of thin air. Money doesn't matter... which is the reason a giant travelling transformer castle and angler fish come so cheap these days. That's the pop aspect of it dummy. You didn't read either. Ok, even if she doesn't care about sales, do you really think Interscope doesn't care about how it sells? That's pretty naive of you. www.brianhowarddesign.com

GagaSkeletonWay 2,080
Btw, the photo about ARTPOP being better than Thriller has been already discussed, hasn't it? They only matter to the label not the artist. I don't think so. I think Gaga and every artist cares about sales.

Jesse Pinkman 4,660
I hate when people say Gaga doesn't care about sales. Don't they realize that this is a JOB not a hobby? It his her job as an artist of a label to deliver good music that will SELL? Stop being delusional. If that were the case, then what's the point of hype & marketing campaigns? Plz. LadyGagaStan93 129
The only thing an artist truly cares about is their music reaching their fans and touching them to make an impact. That is the true goal of an artist, to incite a reaction of some kind. Her job isn't to sell, that's the labels job. The label makes her sell. I'm sure she enjoys the money, but in reality most of her money goes right back into the music. Which in fact could leave her broke, if she couldn't make it back up. Not everything is about sales, and I'm sure the label wants her to sell well. But she's already on track to sell, what's there to care about? I hate when people say Gaga doesn't care about sales. Don't they realize that this is a JOB not a hobby? It his her job as an artist of a label to deliver good music that will SELL? Stop being delusional. If that were the case, then what's the point of hype & marketing campaigns? Plz. LOL Do you think Gaga does marketing campaigns? That's her labels job once again. A successful pop star does none of that. Clearly the hype comes from them, but that's just to get you excited and willing to listen and stay tuned. Yeah her label does marketing campaigns so she can SELL. If Gaga didn't sell & flopped with everything she put our, they can drop her or cut her budget. You don't think she realizes that? I'm sure when she's ready to put out an a single she's not like "ooh I'm just gonna throw this out and see what happens." NO.she wants that sh!t to be successful! I can't. I'm sure Rihanna doesn't think of her sales when releasing an album she had no part of every year.. or Gaga when agreeing to a NOVEMBER album release.. lol. I'm not shading either, but they are business women. Edited July 16, 2013 by Americano
