If you love Gaga, which we all clearly do otherwise we wouldn't be on a fansite talking about her, then that's all that should matter. I guess I just don't care if the "GP" loves APPLAUSE or "rolls their eyes at it." Don't get me wrong, I always champion and defend her. But is her music really any less good if the "radio" or "GP" doesn't like it? I have a feeling that APPLAUSE is going to kill...but even if it doesn't, that's not the point. She'll be remembered for pushing the bounderies and limits of pop music/ pop culture. She's already had a MASSIVE effect and her career is still in the very early stages. "Give me that thing that I love." Well, in a way, as a Pop star, her success with the GP is what will allow her her freedom to do what she pleases artistically. If she can't bring in the money like she's been doing, then she wont be allowed to do everything that she wants to do because her label will intervene and do what they think is best to make that quick buck. And as a fan, I'm sure you WANT Gaga to have her artistic freedom, right? That basically hinges on not just YOU purchasing her products, but on the GP buying into it as well. So yes, I think the commercial success of "Applause" and ARTPOP really do matter. However, as a fan, I will enjoy them either way. Flops or not. This. :clap: If I remember correctly she said in an interview for a magazine (V Magazine?) a couple of years ago that when she wanna know what the fans says she comes here on GGD and that she does everything for her fans and doesn't care what anybody else thinks.And yeah, I know, the label want to sell good. I just really hope she doesn't release it on the 19th and that she doesn't premier her new single at the VMA'S like gaga because then it'll take away a lot of the attention away from gaga and I just want all eyes and ears on gaga and have all the tabloids talking about gaga and not Katy.
