YES! This is exactly what I believe the record will be about lyrically. The title track will probably be about the duality of Art and Pop.

 

I was reading an interview with Marina Abramovic this morning where she talked about money and fame and that it shouldn't be the motivation for making art. But fame and money are a motivation in Pop music. In fact, it is driven by fame and money, not necessarily from the artist himself but the label thrive on an artist's marketability.

I think there will also be ambiguity with the lyrics, a double meaning. Just like "We could, we could belong together" can be about love and also the duality of Pop and Art. "If love is a sin, live a lie. You and me until I die." "I won't die, but I can't live without you". It sounds corny as f*ck, but if it's about the necessity of art in one's life, then it's brilliant. "We could be caught, we're both convicted criminals of thought."

"A hybrid can withstand these things. My heart can beat with bricks and strings. My ARTPOP could mean anything" might explore her own duality, the duality of her entier career: how can you be a pop star (especially female) and still be taken seriously as a genuine artist? Is there such a thing as a hybrid of pop and art? Could they, could they belong together?

 

If this all turns out to be true, the lyrics on that record are gonna be excellent I cannot wait!

She never said no to 2 volumes at all. Wherever you're getting your information from... its wrong. For literally every other LM.com chat with Gaga, there are screen caps. Not for the "no 2 volumes" chat or anything else that isn't real.

Guys, I kinda sleeping and i had this idea for the cover, this is how i pictured it: the cover was gaga very clean adn fresh (like one that was released) but it has printed in some kind of ink that you can only see with some kind of glasses a lot of colors and things. (The glasses were in a box in which the album was released) sorry if there's bad english and you couldnt understand but im to sleepy rn.

I'm really excited for what Marina and Gaga can come up with, it seems like Marina loves Gaga cause she looked very happy in the dinner at the Gagossian Art Gallery. Like a mutual love an respect for eachother's artistry.

Marina loves Gaga. I remember Marina mentioning that Gaga brought her a young audience and that she was thrilled about it, about Gaga's way of educating and teaching young people. She was also impressed that she could really talk about art, and actually mention artists rather than take from them, like Madonna.

It's just so great to see Gaga embraced by those big, respected, ground breaking artists!

 

And yeah, that soundcloud track does not screm "rage of electronic passion and fury" to me. I think we can safely assume ARTPOP will be closer to complextro. I see it as a complextro version of Bad Romance. You know how the beat drops after the first 'Want you bad romance' and it goes bat**** crazy. I see a heavier, more rapid, more layered version of that with like a completely crazy keyboard fury in the background. A truly epic meltdown of music.

Somebody posted this in the previous ARTPOP thread, and I've been OBSESSED with it. I want that kind of energy on ARTPOP.
