dontbesweet 7 Posted July 13, 2013 Share Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who likes "Burqa" as a song title Anyway, there are a lot of muslims where I stay and I know that the reason some do it( I don't think the majority wears Burqas) is because they feel that if they don't cover their whole bodies, woman will be seen as a s-xual object by men. I think that theme could project well into a song, it could even be feminist. And maybe the reason why Judas was so controversial is because she said things like: "Judas is the demon I cling to!'' and she sung about choosing Judas, etc... and the GP is not going to take the time to figure out the imagery of the lyrics I do not think that in Burqa she will portray it in a controversial way, or lyrics that are unintelligible or negative to some. But I remember Judas being slated by people weeks before it was released; it's the initial shock of using a taboo (religious in Burqa's case) word for a song title. It wouldn't be worth it.
