Oh, so what does it mean? And what does that "179 mln all format audience" represents then?

ย

Sorry if that's a stupid question :)

Mediabase makes its estimates from people; Nielsen makes its numbers by monitorizing the radio stations.

179 M AI on all format represents the numbers the song got from all radio formats (pop, urban, rhytmic etc)

ย

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, cause I'm not sure anymore about this :ohno:

I thought it meant that 170 million people a week were hearing the song.

ย

I don't know, but it's a pretty accurate estimate (oxymoron, I know) apparently.

ย

It's not an exact amount, but an estimate. They base it off of area and time. For example, Blurred Lines being played one time at 4:00PM in Los Angeles will be heard by a lot more people than being played one time at 3:30AM in Fargo.

It probably is the amount of people that hear the song every week.

ย

Yes, so 179 Million Americans heard the song from Wednesday through Tuesday.

:Kara:

Thanks Klou

this :worship:

ย

You're welcome

So what are those mediabase numbers?

ย

Like Renegade said, Nielsen is based off computers pulling the data while Mediabase is based off estimates made by people.

ย

So it means the mediabase numbers are kinda... irrelevant?
