People complaining about Crazy Kids sales should note it has a total of 15M AI. That is....nothing... Not many songs woud be very high on iTunes with 15M AI unless they're a complete smash, had a good video just released, or had some sort of TV performance.

So in reality, being 50 on iTunes with 50M AI is actually really good.

In that case, the argument would be that it's sales and airplay are matching up - with more airplay would come higher sales, but stations don't seem to care nor seem to want to take that chance. And although C'mon didn't meet expectations, still, this is strange for a Ke$ha song that was made specifically to be a radio smash.

Well it's not all iTunes.

Radio programmers rely heavily on phone calls, and not everyone calling in is a 20 year old with an iPhone. There could be a lot of different audiences saying they don't like Crazy Kids or whatever.

It's probably not that they don't like Crazy Kids - it's that they're not saying they do like it.

But when the majority of its spins are in the evening/latenight hours, it's hard to catch on. It's actually getting a good amount of spins, but the low AI indicates that people aren't listening to it when it's on - because it's on when people aren't listening to the radio.

I still don't know how heavily requests play into the programming factor, though. Seems like most stations have a set schedule when to play certain songs. And most of the Top 40 stations rotate a handful of songs once/1-2 hours, with other songs sprinkled in (the main reason why I hate AMP stations - it's the same damn songs over and over and over).

I actually thought the Bonnie video was really smart. It got the attention of fans of all the artists who are featured, and it gives people a reason to want to know/care who she is.

... and Gaga remains untouched with her global power

Indeed. Sometimes i still question how on earth she managed to sell so much outside the US.

If only she got the US GP back again with ARTPOP..

I like the song

I'm so glad she's branching out! I always wondered why she didn't... She has the potential to be the next big pop girl!

Her first album, released about a decade ago, was a major flop. Labels are reluctant to pick up on acts who are "damaged goods". I doubt she's been sitting around waiting by choice.
