Pop Art 1,773
Like I said in a previous post, it doesn't matter if Blurred Lines has 19810909810198 A.I. As long as it starts getting negative updates on radio, we'll hopefully be good. Billboard doesn't count cumulative A.I. They'll only count how much airplay the song has received that week. Ā Really now? I never knew that!
Arturo 40,746
Really now? I never knew that! I'm 99% sure that's true. They only count weekly sales and weekly streaming so I don't so why it should be any different for radio :p
VforVendetta 2,024
This is already happening on ATRL Ā Exactly what I want ..Ā I will be mega happy with 4 singles all top 10 tho Ā Totally agree.. and this is not even a high expectations... I mean with the right singles BTW could've easily reach 8-9M WW (WW BTW Album stop selling too early early because of TEOG not being global enough and then You and I being ultra local and then MTN being a total flop) If atleast the 3rd single was a big hit like Telephone or the forth single was a smash in Europe atleast like Alejandro .. the album would've shift around 8M .. Ā You must buy atleast 1 single from the queen and I suggest buying Gaga's lead for ARTPOP I really believe that It's possible for ARTPOP to become this huge success that Interscope wanted BTW to be..Ā ARTPOP is way more pretentious project than BTW, they just kinda try not to show It ... and the timing is way better for sales comparing to BTW Release. . .Ā And BTW started with a risky and kinda controversial single ... If ARTPOP's lead single is a smash the whole era will be affected by It just like the whole era get kinda affected from BTW Falling of the top 10 so fast ... (releasing Judas then this affected even more, rushing and releasing 3rd single and then ) TEOG was very global, the problem started with You and I. Freddy 4,421
Around 250 millions AI I think ! Ā Ā You are right, AI measure the impact, not the sale ! Thank you for that precision ! Ā Today's update : Ā 1. ROBIN THICKE Ć¢âā‰ā¬Å Blurred Lines f/Pharrell & T.I: 218.421 (+3.726) Ā I dont think anything will block Gaga from number 1. Her digital sales will be really huge, and if her label put an audio video on Youtube, put the song on spotify and get a radio deal (remember the INSANE radio update Born this Way had in it's first week) I fail to see what could block her. Sexxx 5,625
The VMAs really helped Someone Like You get to number one on iTunes and catapulted it. Let's hope the lead single will have a similar effect

nick4bty 2,758
Wait, if the AI is 250 million, doesn't that mean 250 million people are hearing it that week? And therefore that is what would be counted toward its BB position that week? That's what I always thought...

nick4bty 2,758
No that means 250,000,000 half heard it in total. Ā Okay...but I still think that BB uses the total AI number in their calculation.Ā Ā Last week, Blurred Lines was at 156 million AI, according to BB's official sources. It will no doubt pass 167.7, which will make it the tenth highest airplay peak of all time. But I'm seriously starting to wonder if it has the stamina to reach We Belong Together, which has the highest with 212.1 million.Ā

When songs are charting, BB doesn't count the total sales. Just that weeks.
