BROSEIDON 1,214
HOLY ****ING **** SUMMERTIME SADNESS REMIX IS #61 ON ITUNES WHAT?!?!
Cherry 17
She released TEOG right before the record, though. Which was a very GP friendly song that was receiving both iTunes and radio exposure and performed at the finale of American Idol. And, do y'all really think everyone focused on the message of BTW? The song has such a, I don't know, light and carefree, dance-driven production, that it's very easy to shrug aside the actual lyrics and just listen to the song in background of your car on the radio. It's not like a ballad where the production is so minimal that you are basically FORCED to listen to the actual message of the song * side-eyes Same Love*Plus, "BTW" is a very relatable record for everyone and had huge popularity with women. WarriorPrince 1
It's not like a ballad where the production is so minimal that you are basically FORCED to listen to the actual message of the song * side-eyes Same Love* Isnt that a good thing tho? It's commercially risky but good.
Arturo 40,746
The fact that we can track something now Hear it on the radio This is too much.
Ozzy8923 9
Isnt that a good thing tho? It's commercially risky but good. I suppose it is. It's just an observation. I wasn't criticizing them for it. That wasn't what I meant to do, simply set it up as a basis of comparison with BTW so people see what I'm talking about.
Cherry 17
Why are people saying 1m copies in a week? She literally has MONTHS to build up 1m, its doable. Most artists have months to build up sales and don't do a million though If Gaga was releasing the week of Black Friday, 1m would maybe be a bit more plausible. But it's two weeks before. Gaga will start off very strong, not colossal, and have longevity through the rest of November and December. And trust me, that's what you (and the rest of the fanbase) should want - not an album that debuts with 1.1 million and breaks a record for biggest second-week percentage drop like BTW did. Americano 31,061
I'm just not gonna sit here and underestimate her. She CAN do 1m Edited July 12, 2013 by Americano
Cherry 17
I'm just not gonna sit here and underestimate her. She CAN do 1mI'm not trying to underestimate her, really and truly I'm not. I just want to try to be realistic, so that if she doesn't do 1m (which is most likely) that everyone doesn't start having meltdowns, and that if she does do it then everyone is happily surprised. Why is everyone implying that anything less than 1m is such a horrific thing? Dangerous Man 9,245
I also think she can do another 1M. It's just a matter of faith. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."
Pop Art 1,773
I hope Gaga reconsiders working with Target now that they've changed their policies. They changed their policies?
Klou 2,414
We'll have a better idea if she will pull in a million over the next few months. I think most of us would agree we have good feelings about this era, though. There should be less mistakes.
HOTRODSGAGA 81
I'm gonna be honest, I think Katy can do 1mil. TD's era was a HUGE success. Album sales aren't really her thing, but i'm sure her record labels have many discounts up their sleeves :ARTPOP: Edited July 12, 2013 by HOTRODSGAGA
