Selena responded to Lorde...

http://linkis.com/www.hot995.com/pages/gtQX @ 3.15

I appreciate Lorde and love her music. She's very talented

I've covered her music alot.

Feminism is a very sensitive thing.

It's not feminism if you're tearing down other artists.

She's young and going to take over.

I don't take it to heart.

I would start a thread but the mods seem to dislike all the Lorde threads lately

"It's not feminism if you're tearing down other artists."

Uugh. I hate it when people say that.

Women can criticise other women in a constructive way. Freedom of expression doesn't mean freedom from criticism.

It's funny because Selena is saying a similar thing to Lorde except her phrasing is different. Lorde said she liked her music "sonically" but was sick of women being portrayed in the way they are portrayed in Come and Get It. Basically she said that she liked Selena's music but not a particular message she sends. Here Selena is saying that she "Loves" Lorde's music but doesn't agree with a particular message she sends.

I don't think Selena is tearing Lorde down in the same way Lorde wasn't tearing Selena down.

This, totally!

But I think Selena's response was nice and classy. You can tell she really likes Lorde

I'm just so in awe of her talent, she's so young, completely cocky and and an annoying idiot too but I'm obsessed. I think she's not going to go away any time soon. I'm addicted to buzzcut season it's amazing. Selena is so classy.

I think it's completely wrong how people think that Lorde is pretentious. As if it's wrong for someone to have an opinion just because they are a female teenager and a debut artist. Her opinions aren't attacking anybody. It's just her own thoughts.

And yes, I'm sure being a woman does have something to do with it.

Yesterday, while I was eating at Subway in Australia, I heard a mysterious set of beats that sound familiar to me. It only came late to my senses that the radio is playing Tennis Court. Lorde's impact. :legend:
