As Lorde's former nine-week breakthrough Hot 100 No. 1 "Royals" remains at No. 7, the New Zealander zooms to her second top 10, as "Team" jumps 11-8. The latter song makes across-the-board gains, bulleting for a second week at No. 8 on Digital Songs (133,000, up 7%) and rising 13-12 on Radio Songs (77 million, up 13%) and 19-18 on Streaming Songs (2.6 million, up 1%). "Team" additionally reaches the top of the Rock Digital Songs chart (2-1), which "Royals" led for 16 nonconsecutive weeks from September through earlier this month.

Congrats Lorde! TEAM definitely deserves a top spot! One hit-wonder no more!  :applause:

Below "Timber" on the Hot 100, Katy Perry climbs into the runner-up spot (4-2) with "Dark Horse," featuring Juicy J. The track tops Digital Songs (261,000, up 7%) and the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart (1.9 million, down less than 1%) for a second week each. It rises 5-3 on Streaming Songs (5.2 million, up 8%) and becomes Perry's 14th top 10 (and 12th in-a-row) on Radio Songs, where it trots 11-9 (82 million, up 22%), earning the Hot 100's top Airplay Gainer award for a third straight week.

Dating to the Radio Songs chart's December 1990 launch, Perry's 14 top 10s ties Beyonce's sum for fifth-place among women. Mariah Carey, the leader among all artists, boasts 23, followed by Rihanna (22) and Janet Jackson and P!nk (15 each).

In this week's episode, we break down Katy Perry's latest hit and Shakira's new single, then speak to Lucy Hale about her debut single. Subscribe to the podcast on iTunes HERE.

In terms of overall Hot 100 chart points, "Timber" narrowly claims the top rung over "Horse," finishing first by a mere 2% margin. With the former down by 4% and the latter up by 10%, the stage could be set for "Horse" to gallop into the Hot 100's winner's circle next week.

Billboard is predicting that DARK HORSE might go No. 1 next week. Congrats Katy! :applause:

Happy for her, but if the follow up to Royals wasn't a top ten song, I'd still find her relevant and talented and amazing. :flutter:
