Just listened to Pure Heroine while laying off in bed. Normally, I couldn't listen to the album because the instrumentals in the album is a bit making me feel sleepy (no shade) but I gave her the album another chance to grow on me. It was really good actually. Though Tennis Court is monotonous (which I dislike from a song) and Still Sane's lack of instrumentals are offs in the album for me, I can feel that I'll love this album in a few more listens. :)

Can society stop nailing this seventeen year old for everything she says? She's a teenager still, not some life coach or public speaker. I get she has influence because of her one successful album, but I really wish people would let her be a teen and stop criticizing and nitpicking every little thing she says. 

 

This.  If someone wants a person that's lacking in opinions, maybe they should stan for a politician. 

 

Young and female pop stars are always labeled as pretentious if they have any sort of opinion.  Isn't that the same reason why Gaga is suffering on the charts right now? 

 

Lorde is famous because she represents the average middle class teenager that lives in the suburbs.  I think that if you aren't middle class, relatively young, and didn't grow up in the suburbs, you just aren't going to understand her music.  She makes so many subtle references that only people who have experienced her sort of lifestyle would understand.  

 

I think this disconnect between Lorde's lifestyle and the lifestyle of others is also what breeds hate for her.

It moved to #18 this week and is still gaining on radio and in sales. I hope it reaches top 10.
