0 craig 0 and she's still topping itunes. U mad?

I'm still forming my opinion about her. Usually a cover like that suggests "indie band whose members are nothing to look at.".

Seems like Lorde doesn't want her image and persona to sell her music. Didn't she say something about wanting to be anonymous like EDM? Maybe she feels people used Lana's image and persona against her? And yet, don't you need that to be a really lasting star?

Lorde is very particular with her image. That's all.

I don't think Lorde is seen or promoted as a very "visual" artist though, so I don't think that really applies to her as much.

People are not here for what she looks like.

As of now, the whole mysterious thing is working for her.

But Royals is on Love Club. Are you saying it doesn't fit there or the other 4 tracks are inferior filler?

Since the main criticism of Lorde is her songs are too samey, could some diversity have benefited PH?

Honestly no, Royals doesn't really fit on the album. There are no other songs that have the same feeling as Royals on the album. In fact, if it hadn't become such a success, I'm sure it would've been left off the album completely.

Just because they don't fit with the sound of the album doesn't make them "inferior filler." It is quite obvious that The Love Club EP and Pure Heroine are two separate bodies of work with two separate "sounds" and two separate sets of imagery. You'll notice that TLC tracks are a bit more "pop", upbeat, and somewhat immature sounding than the album.

Pure Heroine stands on its own as an album - you can listen to it from start to end and know that it is one solid body of music that is cohesive and sounds like each song intertwines somehow. You can hear it in the lyrics from beginning to end - the album begins with the lyric "don't you think it's funny how people talk", and the last lyric on the last song on the album is "let them talk." If she were to mix in the different sounding older tracks from the TLC ep that were written when she was in a completely different headspace & time in her life, I'm not sure she'd still be able to achieve that.

It'd be similar to Gaga trying to shoehorn tracks from The Fame into The Fame Monster's tracklisting. Would tracks like "Summerboy" or even "Poker Face" & "Just Dance" fit properly into TFM's tracklisting?

Ok so this week she has been #1 for 4 weeks That is the longest #1 for a female this year.
Do you guys think she can last 12 weeks like Blurred Lines or 9 weeks like Carly Rae Jepsen last year?

I doubt it but still omg

Gaga is Life

It'd be such a dream if she could last that long :flutter: I hope so, and I hope she doesn't fall too fast

Nah she's losing steam in the sales department but it'll be a SLOW decent down the Hot 100, not a plummet. I can see her being a few weeks at #2 once she starts to fall.

I think she's got a 5th week and maybe a 6th week in her.

Just in time for Team to be sent to pop radio in the US on the 19th of November.

I love how her producer plays with her backing vocals and use her vocals as playful synths, it's just captivating

No, she started to lose pop spins rather rapidly.

Surprised that Applause and Wake Me Up are still gaining, while radio is pulling back on the faster burning Roar and Royals.
