I think the fact that women and men are still being portrayed to differently in the media is proof that these gender roles still exist. I think the fact these portrayals are so common and popular shows that these gender stereotypes still exist. What we see advertised to us on television and through our radio is a pretty good reflection of how society thinks.

 

I think the fact that boys are still given trucks and blocks to play with while girls are given dolls to make pretty still shows that men and women are conditioned into certain roles. I think it is important to recognise and call out the presentation of men and women we see in the media because, like I just said, it is a pretty good reflection of how society thinks and how societies thinking needs to change.

While I don't disagree with any of that, I feel like we've gotten off topic from what we were originally discussing.
