As for the artists and label alike themselves they need not lost of $$ anymore to produce music. But some people may still choose their physical form of record. So it will not be completely extinct. You pay premium on spotify and then you have access to all artists. But I don't want to pay for artists I don't like... It's difficult to explain, but I'm going to try: You buy BTW on iTunes ---------> money goes to Gaga and her record label You stream BTW on Spotify --------> The money you paid for premium goes to Spotify and it's divided to all artist, even artists you don't like .
