But you have to realize that each was much greater in 2012 than in 2008/2009. Sales were greater in 2012; radio airplay was greater in 2012; YouTube views were greater in 2012. I hope I'm making sense, 'cause I don't think I'm wording it right.  :sweat:

Yes, but the song was sold in 7 mln. copies in USA and 12 WW, which means that 4% of the Earth's population is responsible for 58% of the song's sales. So yes, the lack of taste is predominant in the USA :lol:

Yes it did. Congratulations to her for Call Me Maybe sales. :) It still doesn't take anything away from Pokerface or Call Me Maybe. There both great songs.

In 20 years at a party the DJ will be all "let's take it back old school" and he'll play Call Me Maybe and a woman will look to her husband and say "ohh!! Do you remember this song from when we were in high school?" And her husband will say no.

The big difference - Poker Face and Just Dance sold millions of Fame albums as well as singles.

Carly Rae and Gotye, not so much.
