I think he was more trying to assure her that we understand the situation and that we're more concerned about her than her album, not give his permission. I'm not sure what problems some people have with this video - it's a pretty good fan encounter as far as I can see. They were all really respectful. No screaming, they respected her wishes to not have photos taken with her right away without questioning, and gave their support. Everyone was respectful and calm. She looks lovely but seems a bit sad. I hope she's not being too hard on herself! It looks like she's taking her recovery very seriously, which is relieving. You could tell her no, but she will still do it anyway.
