2026 Senate results if Democrats had received no Election Day votes:

🔵 North Carolina: D+9
🔵 Georgia: D+3
🔵 Texas: D+2

This is INSANE

These races were already decided during early voting

I think we're stuck with Schumer unless AOC takes him on in 2028 but Jefferies absolutely needs to go :littlepotter:

Can you explain why about Schumer and Jefferies? I haven’t been paying attention to them. All I know is Jefferies did that long filibuster and I thought we loved him for that

Being in TX right now as a Democratic voter is such a breath of fresh air. I swear it has lifted my mood and I feel healed.

Jeffries and Schumer are centrist democrats, not progressives, and aren't representative of why Americans voted for the democrats to be back in power. They're more of a Pelosi, Clinton type than an AOC, AES, Bernie, Zohran type. Centrist democrats are, in some views, partially responsible for the rise of fascism in the USA by not pursuing justice for the first Trump administration hard enough, and when people say "both parties are the same," they typically mean centrist democrats - bankrolled by political interests (such as AIPAC, Israel's lobbying organization) and not bothering to truly work to change the status quo for the average American.

Jefferies said, almost immediately, that "the American people didn't vote for us to 'get even'"

As if corruption wasn't literally the SECOND biggest issue on Americans' mind in this election?

If Democrats don't investigate thoroughly, and I mean turn over every rock, read every text, and cavity search everyone who's come within 100 yards of Trump, they deserve to lose every ounce of power they were just given.

Thank you for both explaining. I picked up bits and pieces of why. But needed  a gagadaily explanation

I think he's partly right.

Yes corruption ranked highly in the exit poll, but people's meaning of that isn't a monotheist belief.
Some will want full investigations of Trump et al and that's the only corruption they think about. Others will be looking more broadly at all the stocks & shares discussions around politicians etc.

The person responsible for the investigations has made it abundently clear his focus will be looking at Trump/WH/social circle corruption in office. And his pitch is that the corruption is affecting the cost of living.
Jefferies focus is the legislative side and is trusting the Chair of the Oversight committee to do the combatative work.

And I think without having both a "investigate crimes" and "legislate against all of us commiting crimes" you risk fracturing a very fragile coaltion of voters.
So, for now, i'm semi-optimistic we'll see a really strong legislative push while the oversight committee works
