MOT 3,716
Jeez, reading through all the comments here, I gotta admit .... it really is starting to look as if Gaga is capable of saying things that she doesn't mean, or just plain lying, or saying nothing when she clearly should say something, or just doing bad things in general. It's almost as if she's human. 1 1

I believe that was in 2010 as well. I think she just educated herself so much more in those years. Even women were grossly misinformed about what being a feminist was and it was seen as a misandrist position at that point. It's a quick turnaround but I'm glad she did. I never liked what she said originally. She sounded like she was trying to be 'not like other girls' or a pick me even though that wasn't what she intended. I mean.. Gaga saying "pick me" like things back then was not exactly all that uncommon for her like when she talked about wanting to cook for her man in high heels and make him dinner and mocked women who were against plastic surgery/ mocked women who "acted like men" in an interview in 2009 or like in 2014 when she said it was a bad idea for women to tell men what to do in relationships and said it could ruin a relationship. JoeCool 1,201
It’s been said at least in high school she wasn’t this unanimously disliked girl she portrays herself as. Theres pics of her smiling with her classmates. i get it too though.. sometimes what we think about ourselves isn’t how the world sees us. But yeah if I didn’t know better I would not have thought that about her Edited October 30 by JoeCool

I forgot about her saying that thing about cooking in high heels but I don't remember about her laughing at women who were against plastic surgery or acting like men and certainly not advising women against telling men what to do in relationships. Have you got the references? I mean, Gaga grew up in a more conservative background and it's not unusual for someone with that upbringing to have a more traditional take on relationships which we know she still has with the whole "I'm the boss at work but when I get home, I like the man to take the lead and let me be the woman" ideals she's espoused before. It's just she had a way of putting it down back then that made you eye roll more. I highly doubt she'd say that today.

How could we possibly know that line is false Im so glad we are having a discussion about these lines, I always thought they were so powerful.
