The stupidest rumor I think I ever saw was that Gaga was going to have mannequins of real human corpses on-stage for her tour (I think this was around the time the Paparazzi video came out).

No it was just completely made up because she wrote that in all caps, but it was only a word play with the album's name and the context of dressed to impress

Y'all remember the pre-LG6 era Twitter account @gagawhoami? They teased the Joanne MV before it was announced, and got some other things right iirc, but they got banned in April 2019 after fans reported them for claiming the lead would come that month.

I can’t remember if this was true or not, but I remember the original Applause VMA performance with Robert Wilson was rumoured to have a performance artist covered in blood and hanging from hooks or something on the stage? Or LG was gonna hang from hooks in her skin? 

And then MTV said yeah, no, we’re good thanks lol

Afaik there was torture art going to be shown onstage but the reasons it all got changed and shrank in scale was because of budget constraints and behind the scenes they were intending to platform Miley more because of the controversy and press around her at the time. 

The stage itself stayed the same, the garden backdrop, the figures in white and the dancers. Just not torture art, Gaga flying across the stage on wires and other smaller things.
