It’s just another example of how online isn’t real. If people are so online that they are genuinely upset that Gaga isn’t speaking about Palestine and that she is a Zionist because of that, they clearly are so online that they can’t see bigger picture. Like, who cares if a celebrity doesn’t want to touch on it? 

Go after the people that are actively speaking ill of Palestinians, as there are plenty of those. But why bother putting words in the mouths of people who don’t say anything. It’s just so insane to me, and I feel people need to find things more productive to care about

gaga is held to a higher standard because she was the most outspoken pop star weve seen in decades 

i get shes older and focusing more on her personal life - but to just never speak out politically other than during presidential election season is kinda disappointing. 

i never used to questions where she stood, but now i do and thats just a little heartbreaking for me tbh

Being disappointed makes sense, and is a rational and totally justifiable feeling to have.

As many have said it’s very much an online discourse thing. I’ve lost count of how many bars still play R Kelly or Chris Brown, or gay bars that’s till bump Nicki or Azealia. 

iirc people find Katy Perry’s lack of musical evolution more offensive. To the point where it’s not cool to even play her music in bars anymore. Last time I DJ’d people enjoyed Starships no problem but cringed and stopped dancing the second Hot n Cold came on

To be fair we don’t know what she’s doing behind the scenes in depth because she’s so secretive. Take for example her legal firms leaks we got a few years back. In those documents we found out so much info we had no idea was going on like the fact the BTWF had obtained and distributed over $6m worldwide to charities. Up until that point we were debating what her foundation actually even did or if it was a tax write off.

We also didn’t know just how instrumental she was in getting DADT repealed or that she had made multiple donations to charities over the last decade of almost $10m. All of that literally only came to light during that hacking where over 2gb of her legal documents leaked.

I’d say R Kelly is fairly cancelled atp. But not 100% because straight people clubs still play him, same for Kanye West. I remember one club I went to one weekend thought they were being funny by playing his Hitler song because it went viral that Clavicular and his streamer friends were playing it on stream.

Straight people do not give a damn about “cancelling” unless they’re far left tbh.

But I do agree about the boring part, it’s literally a big criticism of even Gaga from her fans that she’s now 40 and not wearing meat and making recession pop and walking out of hotels in avant garde fashion anymore

I was just saying this the other day

I know that she's changed her strategy these days from being outspoken, to quietly supporting what she thinks is right in her own ways. Platforming and supporting people who can make a difference etc. But she needs to start being vocal again. "oh she doesn't owe the world anything" no she doesn't, but unless she starts being direct, standing up for herself, shutting down rumours, and having a stance on things, people will continue to project their own chronically online takes on her and smearing her name

For months now ALL the comments are calling her a zionist and it's only snowballing over time the longer she ignores it. The internet isn't the same as it was 5 years ago. These days people see something repeated in the comments 5 times, and take it as the absolute truth, at face value. It's a huge problem with society right now

If she doesn't start clearing the air and shutting things down, her public image will get tarnished more and more until there's no repairing it. Once enough people believe something as true, it's too late, it's become part of your public image whether it's true or not. Welcome to the f.ucked up world in 2026

She doesn't need to start being vocal again at all, imo. If it's not this issue it will be something else. You can't pander to the crazy social media rumours, it's never ending. 

I can totally understand her wanting to live a quieter life and one where she doesn't have to keep up with whatever crap is being said by the terminally online. 

She deals with things differently now and that's her right.

People are insane. There are actual zionists out there using their platforms to peddle propaganda and cover but they’re focusing their efforts on “exposing” Gaga. Until the day she professes her support for the genocide, it’s all just speculation from people who WANT to hate Gaga. 
 

Do a find it weird when people stay silent on something as huge as a genocide that our country is 100% complicit in? I absolutely do. But that doesn’t prove anything.
