Rehab Blues is great, feels a lil inspired by his time in cabaret with how dark some of the lyrics are while being almost delivered as a really dry joke. 

Personal favourite is Blue Skies. The beat drop where the instrumental comes crashing in is sublime.

The part in rehab blues where he goes “so catch me on the evening news, dumb f*g dies of the rehab blues”, like it hits you so quickly after some quite depressing but airy lyrics. I was literally shook when I first heard it, haven’t had such a visceral reaction to a song like that in a while. 

I like Blue Skies too, I love it when he falls back on more traditional country sounds, Ring the Bell also. The fact he has his own take on things but also is unapologetically a country artist is so refreshing. I like that he hasn’t abandoned that side of him, because he’s making the genre much better as a result, and tbh he’s the kind of artist country music needs.
