Taylor Swift - TLOAS: The Encore

Taylor Swift is clearly not interested in making music any more. The big question is why does she keep doing it? Hasn't she made enough millions already?

That's a purposeful artistic decision, seeing as so much of MAYHEM's sound is influenced by artists like those - the synths, vocoder, funky guitar, etc. etc. 

Now, when we turn to look at the cover of The Encore, what about that flat and uninspired image tells us ANYTHING about the music? I'll wait.

I mean, the music is as boring and bland as the lifeless wig on top of Tay-Tay's head, so I suppose she succeeded there! The Encore looks like a rejected photoshoot for an extinct revival of Sharpay Evans in High School Musical - Disney Channel Original Movie vibes!

And the cover is made even worse by its colour scheme - multiple shades of orange and gold against a dark fuchsia background, with nothing really popping in an exciting or visually interesting way. It just feels... flat. A pretty fitting visual metaphor for the album.

But the Bowie and Prince covers have a gr8 composition, beautiful lightning and a certain strikingness to them, with Mayhem its just eh? That blank stare and frizzy hair doesn't give you're about to listen to my best album of the last decade, but an ig post with a cracked mirror effect in lq resolution.

The fuzziness of it definitely doesn't help.

Would definitely be improved with a sharper shot.
