Both ex-Epstein affiliates. He got his orders and followed them. The issue is, the people around him didn't realise how much US public perception has shifted against Israel. The gays know how to party 3 1

Treating Ed like he's personally responsible for what's happening in Gaza doesn't make sense to me. especially when he's said it was the promoters who made the call to remove Macklemore. We don't actually know his personal politics on Palestine. Ed seems like a nice person even though Iâm not a fan of him in any way, he clearly hasnât got much knowledge when it comes to this kind of thing. I understand why people are angry about Macklemore being removed after saying Free Palestine, but I think we can make that point without it turning into harassment You're really going to accept that the promoters are responsible for removing Macklemore? Sheeran is generating hundreds of millions of dollars with this tour, it's not that he's powerless. His band and other openers were able to drop out of the tour and acted based on their beliefs but he's just unable to do anything aside from standing on the sidelines? Oh please. Ed Sheeran is hiding behind even more people after having already tried a different group of people in his previous statement. The tour is about his music as he's very well aware. If he cared enough about Macklemore's friendship and freedom of speech he would have never been removed from the tour because Sheeran has the power to make more decisions than he lets on. 2

His records and tickets will sell no matter what and controversy blows over with time. Just about the only thing that kills a musician's career is becoming boring. Then backlash will stick but it'll be secondary to the first thing. There's objectively a correct take here and that's to admit there is a genocide and to say it's wrong and should be stopped. Any criticism lobbed at an artist after that is really invalid imo. Or at least we can disregard it as nonsense. Which is why, despite Macklemore literally being semi-deplatformed as a consequence to saying the right thing, it's still pretty irrelevant. He'll still book gigs, sell out his own shows, move records, and gain streams. But now he has a lot of people's respect and he did the right thing, which is a moral victory. That matters, I think. Ed tried to play neutral in a situation that doesn't call for it and it's his indecisiveness that's made him most vulnerable. If he were just a raging zionist then we could say he was wrong and argue a point he actually holds but he's not "wrong" because he has no beliefs. He's just a coward that stands for nothing. And that was already a huge loss and failure on his part long before the people online ran with their agendas and narratives.    Btw I hope this is legible, my meds are kicking in and WHEW  I'm not even sure I'm speaking in full sentences but as long as you get the gist of it. I do understand your point, it makes perfect sense. Only thing is... these people do care about the PR effect. I'm not so confident this isn't going to kill careers, or at least damage them in the short or long term. This issue is unfortunately the ultimate can of worms, and I'm not even sure we will see its final resolution in our lifetime, which is really disheartening. If you're headlining a tour making that much money, you do have leverage, and if he really wanted to push back for Macklemore he probably could have. Where is this energy when it comes to politicians who could ACTUALLY make a difference and say and do nothing? Genuinely wondering. I do think Ed's handling of the situation was cowardly, but I can't help feeling like cancel culture has allowed and exacerbated people's sadistic pleasure in seeing a successful public figure being destroyed. I don't think this is helping anyone in the bigger picture. I agree with you. We shouldnât expect celebrities to speak up on every issue, but this is different. Unfortunately not by his will, Ed was thrown into this political issue and he had to make a choice. He either had to stand up for his friend and free speech or take the easy cowardly road. He took the latter and deserves all the hate. At this point, there is no nuance - Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza. If he has the spotlight on him for this issue and he canât say that, he just cares about his money and image more than anything. His bullshit about being apolitical when he has spoken about political issues in the past just makes the situation worse. I really donât know how anyone can still be a fan of his at this point. trolly troll troll
