Gaga needs to show support for Palestine

It’s gotten to a point where silence is complacency.. because why have so many other celebrities openly shown support, knowing it could make them/their families a target, knowing whatever risks may come from showing support , but then we have a handful of celebrities who are just staying quiet..  

its almost now more of a risk for a celebrity to stay quiet rather than show support, I think they’ll gain more respect if they show support for Palestine.

 

do you think there is any excuse for Gaga’s silence?

If for example she got rid of an opening act for speaking out in support I'd agree that she should say something, that isn't the case though and would Gaga tweeting "free Palestine" or "justice for Gaza" help in any meaningful way or just at this point seem "performative" and give way to arguments that distract from what really should be spoken about?

The best thing to do with posts/bots like that are to ignore them completely because they are literally trying to ragebait

i see them everyday about MANY difficult issues and you just need to ignore them because they are there to bait people

I just feel like if I was Gaga, I’d want to set the record straight and make sure people know where I stand.

historically, Gaga has NEVER been one to avoid politics or rights or activism, so for her to act like nothing is happening in the world rn is extremely odd imo

She and Michael have (alleged) Israeli-based investors in their companies, and I'm sure they have (allegedly) invested in Israeli medical technologies. Not because they support Israel as an ethno-state, but because there is a legitimately large medical technology industry; furthermore:

No  It's legitimately the one "stain" on her career that I can think of, but again, she isn't a politician. It's better to either be completely transparent and to the point ala Macklemore, Chappell, etc., or just stay silent if she's gonna "both sides" it. Not that I think she believes in the "both sides" view, but because of the (alleged) ties her business ventures have there.

I mean, my government just authorized $2.8 billion worth of weapons to Israel, so U.S. citizens might as well be considered Israeli investors atp too

If i was Gaga i'd feel very true to who i know I am and what people that actually care know I stand for, I wouldn't be pressured into replying to stupid comments when no matter what i say will be twisted to either be wrong or not good enough

No, she shouldn’t. You know Gaga, and basically every other big artist like Beyonce or Taylor, would’ve done exactly the same as Ed Sheeran, right?

Gaga likely has a very sensible opinion on the conflict. She probably supports a two-state solution. But for most pro-Palestinian people anything other than “Israel should be wiped off the map” is not enough. These are not reasonable people.

Gaga now has a half-Jewish child, and her safety is her priority now. Anti-Semitism is now normalized and even seen as cool by younger generations, it’s at an all time high since the Holocaust.

These people can get very violent. Just a few months ago, a terrorist in Michigan tried to murder over 100 children at a Jewish daycare.

Gaga grew up on the Upper West Side, which is the most Jewish neighborhood in Manhattan along with the Upper East Side, with a lot of Israeli friends, listening to Israeli music and going to Israeli restaurants.

I’m sure she’s sad about the situation in Gaza,  but I do believe she has a positive view of Israel.
