Don't really know what to think about this album, I only like 1 song .

She's really all over the place on this album: dance and industrial at first, followed by some mellow love songs, then back to some heavier synths.

Different Religion, dirtier and much better than the generic leaked remix. Orbit, one of her greatest ballads.

Very much like Gaga, she can put her Miley touch on any genre. Liked the album way more than I expected to.

But her moaning on Neon Signs, almost lost it.  Could've left that one off.

Bass Persuades at least fits some of the album sonically, but otherwise it feels out of place and like the label forced it in for a "hit". 
Lets Get Married is so out of place and Orbit does everything it's doing significantly better and in a more cohesive way with the album. 
Innocent Ways again, sonically fits but when the main focus of the album is about her lovelife - a song about her fall out with Noah is a bit out of place. But if the tracklisting was better and it was closer to Bass Persuades it'd work I think.

The tracklisting really doesn't flow. Going from Orbit (a love song) into Aftermath (a post-breakup track) and then back into REDLIGHTS (another love song) is just really confusing. 
But when 90% of the album is about being happy in love, Aftermath which sounds like she's still thinking about Liam Hemsworth is never really going to make sense in it. 

I feel like I need to pull this album apart and rebuild the tracklist in a playlist. Like Neon Signs should be connected to Different Religion. I genuinely don't think Miley knew what album she wanted to make. There's like 2 different ideas here.

whatever spark she had with plastic hearts and ESV has certainly gone...

If you put Lets get married and Orbit at the end of the album it's a pretty ok record, but as is, its kinda a mess. She should have left it cook a bit more.

I am going to listen to it now and write later a review

Read yesterday the topic about the pre-listen party where they said it lacks energy and is anything but upbeat. Now I am biased and already believe them but still give the album a chance.

 

Edit: Oh, it seems full album isn't released yet? Well, then Ill wait until tomorrow

Honestly she should have just left off those  + red light and just did an ep, cause the other songs are quite stellar. Idk why she chose Bass as the lead when Diff religion was there.
