Miley's "Bass Persuades" departs Global and US Spotify charts after 2 days

I think "The kids dont wanna dance" as the main hook was always going to make it a non-hit. It automatically separates her from the younger listeners by commenting / criticising how they are - It feels like a jam for millennials getting back into their groove and maybe that was her intention?

The song is great but its a BAD first single. The melody is not catchy enough. It would habe been a great album track gem. But i am really looking forward to the album because the rock sound of it is great

Like the promo is always so minimal now, it feels a bit like she's just throwing **** out and seeing what sticks

I mean, it’s just the way it should be, isn’t it?

Otherwise you get a The Dead Dance, it’s alright on paper but I’m not sure it’s enough to pay the promo bills?

Miley just doesn’t have a loyal fanbase and she doesn’t really have a defining sound to carry her. The closest she’s been to figuring it out was Plastic Hearts and she shunned the record. Then with Flowers and Used To Be Young she kinda went for a more basic sound but at least had something authentic to say. Then she went on a whole pretentious route with Something Beautiful and started overproducing her whole stuff.

Bass Persuades is just a big old nothing burger imo. It’s a song any pop girl could sing. Miley has never really been a “the kids don’t wanna dance” type of artist. She’s never been a choreo girl. So none of this “yas mama serve **** for the gays” music is on brand with her. It doesn’t click. The song is good, it just isn’t Miley.

and it's odd bc she's only 33. she's not old. madonna saying "it's not okay i dont f with it" makes sense for someone who was in the clubs and is older. miley was never in the clubs nor is she old
