Not perfect, not every song is my fave but there's enough good material for me to enjoy the album very much. StrawberryBlond 15,707 Posted September 7 Share Posted September 7 I only listened to her for the very first time yesterday after hearing so many people raving about her and finding out that she auditioned to be part of Katseye. Certainly looking at the majority of her output, I'm surprised she didn't make it past the first round, she would've really fit into the group. With the album, I was rather let down by the majority of tracks, however, thought they were all slightly under-par for the most part with just a few exceptions. She is talented with the it factor though and I'm still intrigued to listen to her prior EP now. I'm sure with the right nurturing and team behind her that she can improve on this. But the big standout was Nicole Kidman. Damn, as soon as the beat opened up, I knew this was going to be a banger. Have had it on repeat ever since. This will definitely be my go-to bad bitch anthem for when I'm preparing to go out or do something monumental. I grew up being fascinated by her and especially her Moulin Rouge appearance and hoped that with my pale skin, blue eyes and red hair that I'd grow up to look like her (whether it worked out is up for debate). She placed 20th in public votes and was immediately disqualified because of that. Public voting was skewed though, most American contestants (such as daniella) ranked low in the first mission because Americans just didn’t really vote as much as countries like the Philippines etc + with Adela from Slovakia, she also didn’t get enough votes. Onto the solo artist thing: Adela was incredibly outspoken compared to the other contestants, she would highlight if things felt unfair, and she always had the girls backs. For a group like katseye, I bet the team saw this as being ‘disruptive’ when really she was just standing up for herself and people. In the show she famously called out manon for not putting as much effort in as the other girls, missing rehearsals and said that the producers favoured manon and gave her preferential treatment. In the mission which disqualified her, she was technically excellent and danced great, but the audiences just didn’t see her in a girl group. She stood out rather than blended in.
