I was against watching it because it felt like just too easy to remake this

but I am not gonna lie I am excited to watch it and explore more than what we saw in the movies. The movies will always be fond memories and part of my life but yeah it’s also ok to see another take on this.

I watched the trailer, and can't enjoy it really. Rowling has done so much harm, and it will fund her hatred. And I hate that this probably will do great numbers. The books/movies used to be my childhood, so I should be excited, but knowing what Rowling became (or always has been?), it's such a whiplash. Anyway, won't be streaming.

These books ignited my love for creativity, reading, and writing. So excited for this series. The movies couldn’t do the books justice (especially the later ones) so I think this format will definitely benefit it and allow the viewer to sit with the characters and atmosphere more. HBO always comes through, so very excited

The overall blanket statements like this is what is killing our society. Like, obviously they aren’t funding transphobia. There are COUNTLESS crew members, young actors, and other people who are rightly getting paid for their hard work. Yes, she will be getting paid, but so will MANY others. 

It’s just like the people bitching about billionaires and then going on Facebook and Instagram all day every day. It’s never as simple as it seems, and when we try to simplify it with overall general statements, it leaves no room for gray.

So yes, I will watch. And no, I’m not supporting a transphobe. I am supporting a IP that I really love, and supporting countless people who have poured their hearts and souls into this, and yes, I will be putting my money towards her, but I do that all the time. Their are terrible people everywhere, and my money will go to them.

So it's not funding transphobia. 
But she's getting paid.
And she uses those payments to fund transphobia. 

Like honestly, I don't respect anyone who still engages with HP from the queer community. 
But I have way more respect for people who can at least own their actions rather than trying to lie their way into a clean concious.

Not every issue needs gray and we should reject it a lot of the times when it comes to some of the bigger issues. There are people with billions and billions of dollars on this earth and there are starving children, kids dying cause they cannot get medication etc. It is my moral DUTY to reject the gray. It is v black and white. Same with JK Rowling

This trailer is really whatever, why they use those trailer-impact-effects when nothing spectacular is happening on screen? Also everything looks so muddy, first movies had phenomenal color grading, desaturation came later when the evil started to overtake and it was done on purpsoe.

So she, a transphobe who is actively funding transphobia, is getting paid from this. Which means the viewers' money is going to fund transphobia, even if the cast and crew are getting paid as well. It's not a "blanket statement", it's a literal fact. You can lie to yourself that you're not supporting transphobia but the facts disagree with you regardless of how much you love the IP. You can watch it and put your money on that IP but that won't change the fact that you are spending money on content that is directly benefiting a transphobe who is VERY vocally acting on that transphobia to ruin actual lives.
