I do wanna say the Haus of Gaga hasn’t been a proper thing since 2011. It’s just a collective/company name now. They also weren’t technically collaborators other than DaDa because they basically got told what her ideas were and they had to bring them to life. Like Warhol’s factory.

Also the Haus weren’t people like BoomKack or Nicopanda, the Haus were people like DaDa, Kamikaze and Dark and Lagerfeld — basically people she had been working with for years before The Fame.

And since DaDa’s contributions to original ideas were pretty spare I’m gonna say, Parris is her best. Because she seems to collaborate and not just do what Gaga tells her with some tweaks.

I see your point, and appreciate your due diligence (as always)!

I was more so yielding to the creative credits of “Haus of Gaga” on the, to your point, pre-2011 works … and videos like Bad Romance, MTN (?), The Fame: Pt. 1, etc. that were attributed to the “Haus” within a capacity … I was also thinking of an early quote that echoed a more generalized vantage of the “Haus” including NASA engineers, etc.

Spoiler

“It’s my creative team and it was really organic. I was a bit frustrated at the beginning, being so new to the business and going forward with a major label. I called all my coolest art friends and we sat in a room and I said that I wanted to make my face light up. Or that I wanted to make my cane light up. Or that I wanted to make a pair of dope sunglasses. Or that I want to make video glasses, or whatever it was that I wanted to do. It’s a whole amazing creative process that’s completely separate from the label.”

Though The Haus was deeply influenced by Warhol‘s Factory, I would say HoG was fundamentally much less exploitative in its formative model, and material consequence … (one would hope)

Of course, now the Haus is a corporate entity and/or LLC, but pre-2011 it was a primarily off-label creative collective that did broadly include members across her creative planes … including fashion, choreography, creative direction, photography, technology (TechHaus pre-cursor), etc.) … maybe? Though, I think to limit the membership of the early Haus with a stark rigidity or negation of its somewhat inherent ambiguity, might lean toward an erasure of the grassroots approach the Haus intended to develop as a model for entertainment and music-based creatives within an industry that paralyzed that very intention by contractual limitation—but again, I’m new here, a novice still learning!

Spoiler

Again, not having researched the history of the Haus in over a decade, this is broadly referencing references from the past (also The Fame Monster Super Deluxe edition which illustrates the collective more immediately, but/and along the margins of contextual formality) …

That said … maybe one day she‘ll curate an oral narrative and/or personal history of the Haus to formalize any assumptions from audience members who are simply gleaning from outside the Haus

The thread is honestly just for the fun of creative curiosity … with your interests you should definitely pitch a project to the Haus (or whichever entity handles creative projects) that formalizes the deep dives you publish on the forum—like, a proper monster‘s history of the haus (and management!) or something to that effect … Thanks again as always for the insights!

ETA: Also appreciate the technical collaboration point, and to that aspect, the thread was more generally phrased to open the space to less technically compartmentalized creative “partners” … just people she worked with in creative capacities, regardless of official collaborator title or technical nomination in that way—if any of this makes any sense!

TL;DR: But/and/so, because I haven‘t researched the Haus in a stretch of a minute, and the “[OG]” Haus is a subjective entity, mea culpa for any of my misattribution in the poll / thread

Space Cowboy

Cherry Cherry boom boom....  made for great lyrics!

… just play that track

I feel like at some point they asked Gaga where she met Space Cowboy, and she said … “in outer space” … I don’t know if that actually happened or it just seemed like a quote I heard in a Transmission, but either way good ol‘ SC … and Martin “Cherry Cherry Boom Boom” Kierszenbaum!
