Not a highly publicized race but +12 is so ass.  Even for a Republican internal. Kamala Harris, you will pay for your crime of not running for governor.

I would love to know...why? :rip:

I moved back to Texas after being gone for years. Its honestly sad how ignorant most people still are here. I'm sure youve seen the DUMB commercials that happen around the midterms and think, how could anyone fall for this? Those people are here 😆 this is across all ethnicities - but ive noticed that a lot of the Hispanics, my family included, have this conservative mentality about them. They see immigrants as lesser than them. They are still toxic masculinity driven. They are still super religious, which in the south means hating.

Even the younger crowd, when you actually sit and talk to them about things, they are mostly on the wrong side of history and none of them can fully tell you why beyond some iteration of what I mentioned above. The younger crowd is literally influenced by algorithms only, but even the adults - they prefer to stay in their little social bubbles than actually experience or view life through a different lens.

Which Chamber is harder to flip? House or Senate?

The senate. We're basically guaranteed to take the house back but the senate is still a coin flip and requires us to win states that Trump won by 10% or more in 2024.

House members are elected for a term of two years, so every seat in the House is up for election every two years.

However, Senators are elected for a term of six years, so even though there are Senate elections every two years only one third of the seats are up for election each time.

So .... even if there is a big National swing in favour of the Dems they need to be lucky in terms of enough flippable Republican Senate seats being up for election.

It's actually really common for descendents of immigrants to hold conservative values towards other immigrants.
Like you get the 1st gen immigrant on immigrant discimination based on how they arrived - "these illegals make it worse for us who did it right".
But then with each successive generation born, they increasingly lose that connection to any idea of being an immigrant community and just being a native citizen (not that ICE cares) and so naturally any sense of solidarity goes away with that.

Social bubbles/social media definitely impact on this. But this has been a decades long thing tbf. Look at italian & irish american communities
