I mean Katy BROKE records with Teenage Dream and the aesthetic is ICONIC but LOUD had HITS too and Red Haired Riri was a MOMENT in pop culture and set trends by making every female around dye their hair red!

I mean aesthetically and sonically speaking they’re both ICONIC but I would say Teenage Dream by a hair.

I'm torn.

I feel like visually, Teenage Dream may have a longer legacy as visually its still remembered. But like Loud has way stronger hits.

Visually speaking as in like the look with the blue, pink and purple colored wigs and the candy inspired outfits or the music videos or both?

To me Katy isn't in Rihanna's league as a pop star... HOWEVER, I am giving this to Katy.

Other than Anti, I don't ever think of Rihanna as an album's artist. She is the queen of hit making, but so many of those huge hit songs that we know every word to don't really belong to an album or era to me, they almost seem to exist on their own.

In fact, I often can't tell you exactly what Rihanna song belongs to Rihanna what album. They all kinda blur together.

But Teenage Dream is very much an era. The colors, the themes, the candy coded vibes. Those songs only fit on that one album. And those songs are all huge. No doubt.

Teenage Dream as it has most number one singles on an album by a female artist and the quality of the album is superb. :)  So many albums have filler songs, while TD is full of hits and you even are happy about the few more clam songs, as they serve as a break form the hits.

I didn't even know that Loud is an album, I knew decades ago but I forgot, I even thought this was between songs and thought Loud is a song before clicking this topic. That being said, Rihanna is a great singer, too, counitng all eras, but the problem with the album is:

The version of S&M with Britney Spears is better and more epic than the album version S&M. So when you listen to the album, you don't have the best song from that album era and only the worse version. And S&M still is the best song on the album.

Only Girl in the World is on the border between good and annoying. Album as a whole is more mediocre.

Loud is more an average, typical album by a pop singer, while Teenage Dream is iconic.

Based on the music alone, I'd give it to Loud over Teenage Dream, I recall those hits so much more strongly

But based on building an era/aesthetic around it all, I'd have to give it to Teenage Dream, I can picture its imagery so much more clearly in my head

My personal favorite of the two is Loud by far but that's not what was asked
