This is called caring for the culture and assets of a given place when they begin to deviate from the main idea - every country has the right to do so and every tourist should respect it. 

Gaga's show was cancelled because religious extremists were threatening violence. It wasn't done to appease religious values.

And I'll say this too, I think people are freaks when they expect a total level of assimilation for immigrants and refugees.

When someone goes to another country they have every right to bring their own customs and cultures as long as they aren't harming anybody. A Muslim woman deciding to wear whatever she wants on her own body harms nobody.

Outlawing part of their culture, or agreeing when laws of that nature are passed, makes you an ignorant bigot and an asshole. Full stop.

Threads like these really do expose why "twinks for Trump" or alt-right gen z in Europe are a thing.

Since we're still on it: when you boil it down to the basics, thinking the government should ban people from wearing too much fabric on their body is ridiculous. 

Vastly more people in plain, casual clothes commit violence than ones in religious/cultural garb, so its not about the clothes. There's more instances of crime that leads to death happening in business meetings than on the streets, so if the law was about that then they'd already be targeting corporate finance offices. The law is about forced assimilation and humiliation of marginalized groups. 

I don't have a favorable view of most religious practices, so I don't do them and that's all I or anyone has the right to do. Where I live, a good portion of people wearing a cross necklace and driving cars with Bible verse bumper stickers are nightmare individuals much more volatile than others. Should we be banning cross necklaces or scripture stickers because one too many Mckeyleigh and Connor Smiths have hopped out of their F150s and went for their concealed carry after they got cut off in traffic? No. We mind our business. 

Spooked out by a person dressed differently than you're used to? Mind your business and go somewhere else if you can't deal. Simply mind your business.

I dont fully reject hadiths, I see it as a history book that can compliment my religion, but its not doctrine or fully authentic. I dont believe hadiths can legislate laws outside of the Quran or contradict it. All the issues in Islam come from the hadith. I dont believe in womens dress code in Islam, it only gives you a general rule for modesty based on the culture you live in, which also applies to men.

Thanks for your honest answers. My reading back then didn't have many moderate voices included. Reading the (most recognized as "true") Hadith made me come to somewhat of the same conclusion as you in my humble opinion, "All the issues in Islam come from the hadith" as you said. Some of them were a punch in the gut like "There are much more women than men in Hell" and when Aisha asks why, it's because of "moral and spiritual weak-mindedness because women don't pray when unclean so their bond with Allah is much looser." Don’t quote me on it but that was the essence, I think. It's to be used more like a history book, as you say, not doctrine but a timeline if you believe, a supplement but not usable law or maybe even fully authentic. What a healthy way of looking at it!

Taking them all seriously NOW would be like thinking the New Testament spouts THE truth line per line if you're Christian or believing every bit of Hindu religious text from every one of its 28 states and 8 Union territories - all are contradictory in some form at least.

I am not interested in offering kindnesses to Muslim people in Western countries that they would not afford non-Muslims in Islamic countries. It really do be that simple for me, and I do not think that many of their beliefs are compatible with non-Muslim culture, and I think they know that and weaponize it.

And like....US/UK interferrence in the middle east is the reason most of the previously secular nations in the region ended up under the control of incredibly repressive extremist leaderships. 

Like Iran is in the state it is because the US/UK waged a shadow war amongst themselves for control of iranian oil.

But equally as a white westener living in the west. We're just not willing to ignore the fact that straight white western men are anything other than scum in 90% of cases.

Yeah that hasn't been my experience at all and I come from a town of rednecks. Almost all of the hate I've ever encountered was from the Muslims. 

I think it's funny that this thread is full of gays with white guilt debating racism while Islamics actively and proudly hate us and want to convert our families to their faith by all means necessary. Good grief.

Idk about "countless". ISIS coordinated attacks peaked in 2015 and even then, at their bloodiest, the deaths accounted for less than 5% of Europe's total homicides.

After that, attacks were "lone actor" attacks but Europe has the same problem the US does tbh.

If a white man shoots up a Walmart, well he's crazy. A white man beats his wife, well he's a bad guy. A white man ODs on some illegal drug, well he had problems.

If a brown person does any of that? It's 'cause all people like that person are bad. Ignoring the fact that in both places, Europe and the US, immigrants are far less likely to commit crimes or acts of violence, regardless of where they come from, than native born citizens.

Not everyone is white. Its not about "white guilt" its about decency and empathy. You getting bullied by a few Muslim people means nothing and the obvious ignorance about a culture that isn't yours that turned into hatred is gross. Go have 3 conversations with Muslim people about their culture and then get back to us about what you learned.
