So, that‘s the philanthropic genius that underscores the new company‘s research vision; did he put together any initiatives during his time with the Foundation (ex. the Opportunity Zone initiative, [2], etc.)?

He seems to have a really keen knack for fundraising and strategic partnerships, which is a crucial skill in the VC and non-profit worlds, in particular; but, again, I’m just catching up to speed on this whole thing— a fascinating case study on creative / corporate partnerships if nothing else!

I'm afraid I can't answer any of that. I can only look at those high-level facts and draw a high-level conclusion. Maybe someone else can come in with more detail.

Gaga is a professional artist, Michael is a half-genius tecbro kind of guy. So the highly scientific nature of what the project is sbout .... that's Michael. And the high-powered funding, the links to the world inhabited by the likes of Peter Thiel...   that's Michael too.

I don't know how it works at the level at which Michael operates, but my impression of him is that he is a good guy. He has clearly been very beneficisl to Gaga. She was on the floor at the end of 2019, then she hooked up with Michael and things begsn to improve, and the Mayhem ball was just a triumph for her, both artisticslly and in the way in which she lasted the course physically - I put that down to Michael. But he is what he is, and this project is him too.

I mean we can never truly know without Gaga saying anything publicly what it’s all about and how it came about. But given the research they’re doing, she would’ve had to have started this up years ago— even before she met Michael — behind the scenes. 

For example we never knew about Gaga’s business investments and her stuff in politics until her legal firm got hacked and they leaked every document she ever had with them from 2008 up until that point. That’s how we found out how involved in repealing DADT she was, how she was investing in medical science avenues and that she had a medical science company herself in the small stages (which turned out to be this company).

I’m talking about the contradictions some of us face when deciding whether or not to consume the work or the products of certain artists. It’s personal. I don’t feel morally superior, and I’m not judging anyone who makes a different choice

That's very interesting. So she has had a business interest in this area other than Haus Labs. I didn't know that.
