This is disappointing For me, it’s a pain I’ve already experienced with Madonna and her links to Kabbalah and Israel. I was able to reconcile that discomfort with the fact that she never seemed to compromise her stance or her criticism of the situation. She has continued to stand up for Palestine, included Netanyahu’s face alongside Hitler’s and other tyrants in the backdrops of her tours, and explored the conflict through a piece of choreography during the Confessions Tour; she spoke about her stances, she made it visual, she danced it. The difference here is that Gaga’s connection doesn’t seem to be a religious or personal matter; it’s about business and financial interests. And her silence on the matter is getting louder by the day, especially now that she has announced this venture. Obviously, not everyone in Israel supports what the Israeli government is doing, and having a business connection to Israel doesn’t automatically mean endorsing its government or its actions. But when power, money and politics are so deeply intertwined, it becomes much harder to simply look the other way. And that’s the real pain in the ass for us: watching someone you love become increasingly connected to something politically and morally unacceptable, while she says nothing that helps you understand where she actually stands. At some point, the silence itself becomes part of the conversation. My mind is playing all the tricks it can: maybe she’s unaware and simply focused on her art; maybe she’s deeply in love with Michael; maybe she’s taking dirty money and transforming it into beautiful art and philanthropy… But the reality is that her silence is suffocating part of the fanbase, because we love her and want her to thrive and have everything good in life. But tying her business to vulture capital stained by the blood of genocide is simply too much to bear. CELINE 764 Posted yesterday at 01:54 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:54 PM The Misinformation regarding Lightspeed's involvement is getting out of hand. People are selectively labelling her as a Zionist... Even Michael's heritage is being called into question. Lightspeed does operate and invest in Israeli companies. But that's just another branch of their highly diversified portfolio. 1

It's Already Arrived ( Zoë Schiffer via Wired) Lady Gaga probably wasn’t thinking that a coup would unfold in her greenhouse. Then again, she was cohosting a party there with Sean Parker, the billionaire founder of Napsterand first president of Facebook. It was February 2024, and the singer had invited guests to her $22.5 million oceanside estate in Malibu to mark the launch of a skin-care nonprofit. One of the organization’s trustees was her boyfriend, whose day job was running the Parker Foundation. In the candlelit space, beside floor-to-ceiling windows that looked out over the Pacific, Parker’s people mingled with Gaga’s, nibbling focaccia and branzino alla brace to music from a string quartet (Grammy-winning, of course). Prem Akkaraju, one of Parker’s close friends and business partners, arrived in a tailored suit, his thick hair coifed to perfection. The two men had known each other since Parker was at Facebook and Akkaraju was in the music industry. Over the years, they’d tried unsuccessfully to launch a movie streaming platform together and—much more successfully—had taken over a renowned visual effects company. Lately they had been talking about starting an AI venture. That evening at Gaga’s, Akkaraju found himself sitting next to an investor in Stability AI, the company that launched the wildly popular text-to-image generator Stable Diffusion in 2022. Despite its early success, Stability was “circling the drain,” the investor recalls. It was “within days of not having options.” He told Akkaraju: “You should take Stability and make it into the Hollywood-friendly AI model.” [ … ] The conversation drifts to rotoscoping. Legato explains that this process, where an artist sketches over a scene frame by frame, used to take hundreds of hours and was reserved for entry-level animators. Now AI can automatically isolate part of an image and add visual effects. “You’d never want your child to work on roto,” he tells me. The comment is meant to sound optimistic, but it gets to a looming fear about how AI will impact Hollywood. Namely, that the technology will lead to widespread job losses. “I hear artists at VFX companies say, ‘Hey, I don't want to get replaced.’ Of course you don't want to get replaced!” says Cameron. “If you guys are going to lose your jobs, you're going to lose your jobs over the work drying up versus getting bumped aside by these gen AI models.” The idea, echoed by Akkaraju and Parker, is that as movies become cheaper to produce, more films will get made and overall employment will rise. When pressed on this point, Akkaraju reverts to an extended metaphor. “Every major transition or technological invention is always met with apprehension at first, and then acceptance, and then it's obvious,” he says. “When ATMs rolled out in the ’80s, all the tellers were really up in arms. They were like, ‘That’s our job. We give withdrawals, we take deposits, and now you’re having this machine do it.’ What’s happened since then is that there are more teller jobs than ever before, and their average pay is higher, even adjusted for inflation.” Whether the coup that began in Lady Gaga’s greenhouse ultimately saves Stability AI, the AI revolution is here and already transforming Hollywood. That collapsing building, that burning forest, that crowd of people you see when you stream a show or go to the movie theater? One person with a keyboard could’ve made them. The thing about that bank-teller anecdote is that it’s often used by techno-optimists—including Stability AI investor Eric Schmidt. What they don’t mention is that the number of bank tellers peaked around 2015. Since then, it’s been on the decline. And Helsing’s other major backer is Daniel Ek, Spotify’s founder, whose investment firm Prima Materia led its €600 million funding round. Ek is also Helsing’s chairman. Remember the Spotify scandal a few months ago, when people were cancelling their subscriptions over this? 👀 Gaga’s Outer Bio and Spotify’s Daniel Ek are connected through Helsing, a company developing AI and autonomous technology for modern warfare. The same Vulture Capitalist network backing Gaga’s biotech venture is also backing the military-AI company backed by Spotify’s founder. https://www.castelion.com/news/series-c/ https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/german-defence-start-up-helsing-raises-600-million-euros-latest-investment-round-2025-06-17/ The financial network overlap is scarily real. 💀 i legitimately would like an explanation for why it matters what *other things* an investor is doing when they invest in you? I get it for politics. The return on the investment is your political sway with the candidate. But for companies...it's literally just capital. They want to make money so they invest. I guess it's bad that if outer bio gets a high valuation these evil companies will make more money to do evil things. OK I answered my question lmao. I see the concern but I still don't know if I think it makes that big of a difference or how normal it is to be picky about your investors in this way. MOT 3,636
This project is clearly much more Michael's doing than Gsga's. She is involved because a) she has a genuine (and existing business) interest in skincare and b) Michael is the love of her life. Gaga is a professional artist, Michael is a half-genius tecbro kind of guy. So the highly scientific nature of what the project is sbout .... that's Michael. And the high-powered funding, the links to the world inhabited by the likes of Peter Thiel... that's Michael too. I don't know how it works at the level at which Michael operates, but my impression of him is that he is a good guy. He has clearly been very beneficisl to Gaga. She was on the floor at the end of 2019, then she hooked up with Michael and things begsn to improve, and the Mayhem ball was just a triumph for her, both artisticslly and in the way in which she lasted the course physically - I put that down to Michael. But he is what he is, and this project is him too.

This definitely makes sense; I appreciate the comparative frame. Again, I’m new here and still learning (always learning, thus the questions and curiosity amidst new endeavors!), so, to your point (and general consensus on the partnership), what‘s Michael‘s scientific / tech background, where is the field of his genius that fuels the innovation of this bespoke company (any patents, research papers, scientific developments, apps, grants, concepts, theories, models, etc …)? He seems incredibly well-networked, and a Harvard BA in Mathematics / Computer Science is quite a formidable starting point for his tech career; I think the only other top-line notes I know of (alas, ever the novice I am) are that he was Principal with Thiel and Co.’s Founders Fund, and managed the day-to-day for the Parker Foundation for the past decade or so? So, that‘s the philanthropic genius that underscores the new company‘s research vision; did he put together any initiatives during his time with the Foundation (ex. the Opportunity Zone initiative, [2], etc.)? He seems to have a really keen knack for fundraising and strategic partnerships, which is a crucial skill in the VC and non-profit worlds, in particular; but, again, I’m just catching up to speed on this whole thing— a fascinating case study on creative / corporate partnerships if nothing else!
