He wanted the royal lifestyle without the expectations though.

Within seconds of them stopping being "working royals" and moving they were launching lawsuits against the government for moving them into the normal case by case system for security because they refused to self fund their security despite demanding they get treated as private non-royal citizens.

Basically, live a life of luxury in the privacy they wanted.

But I can see what being hounded by the press must mean to him after Diana, and wherever he moves in the world, he'll always be hounded and that's because he was born a prince. But he didn't choose that. If it was me I wouldn't want to pay for it either - it's not my fault I need it. He just seems like he wants dignity.

And he is allowed his dignity. But he's not allowed tax payer funding to live in another country and contribute nothing to the country he was demanding fund it.

He didnt choose to be born a parasitic royal worm. But he's choosing to be a parasitic ex-royal adult worm.

Meh, it doesn't bother me. It seems like he sees it as a reparation of some sort or a recognition of the injustice that's been forced upon him and his mother in life. I support someone chasing that. It takes a lot of balls to stand up for your convictions even when you know you'll be crucified for them

His mum got it rough. But she was aristocratic blood and she'd have died in the ideal world one way or the other

People forget, she comes from one of the oldest surviving medieval families in England. At one point, her family were the richest in the entire nation. Her family line stretches back to before Cromwell and were royalists and Diana's bloodline directly traces back to King Charles II who restored the monarchy. 

Like yeah, she did some good things. 
But her blood is why we're still stuck with the ****ers.
