Am I the only one thinking that DWUW was mid from the get go and never really bothered with it being removed? 

Also, justice for Venus, the original second single that would have never created such a controversy if released as planned

DWUW in any version always came off too straight-forward to be on ARTPOP. 

That album is loud and disruptive and DWUW was the closest it came to being easy listening.

I think everyone is overestimating the fact ARTPOP is loud and not commercial.

I mean there's DWUW, MANiCURE, Sexxx Dreams, Gypsy. Even Venus and ARTPOP are kinda accessible. Applause was commercial as a lead as well. Maybe not in Roar level as a commercial pick, but it's pretty much okay as a choice for Gaga single aimed to be sold.

Still think we still haven't seen a real total experimental (break the commercial mold) album by Lady Gaga yet..

I really wish she had replaced the R Kelly version to the solo one as soon as the first was removed, the solo version is better than the xtina one

But since they are merging it, they should put it on ARTPOP

Wow … I completely thought I was alone on that island; I deleted it from the iTunes library after the first album spin and never looked back … alas, I do have the original vinyl so y’know art(pop)ifacts, but … indeed

There might be something to sensory association though, because knowing about R. Kelly since I was younger (just growing up with a certain awareness of the genre / demographic), his voice or sound always registers with immediate negative association … just an inherent repulsion or aversion, so the studio/album version of the song resided within that soundscope

But/and—the justice for Venus segue: a narrative transition!
