RAMROD 117,337
Deadline caught up with producer Jerry Bruckheimer at D23, who tells that when it comes to Pirates of the Caribbean 6, “we’re talking with Johnny [Depp], we’re working on a screenplay, and hopefully we can get this done.” Separate from Bruckheimer, some solid sources tell us that the continuation won’t feel like just the nth tale of Captain Jack Sparrow, rather the next chapter will focus on Margot Robbie’s protagonist with Sparrow as a side character. Essentially, an evolution of the franchise. The last Pirates of the Caribbean, 2017’s Dead Men Tell No Tales, was the lowest grossing in the franchise with $795.9M worldwide. Through five movies, the rich Disney live-action franchise has minted $4.5 billion at the global box office. https://deadline.com/2026/08/johnny-depp-pirates-6-bruckheimer-paramount-1237042233/ (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ ᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵗᵒʷᵃʳᵈ ᵉⁿᵉᵐʸ (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡

Bronco 26,253
Honestly, regardless of how people feel over the Depp/Heard case I don't understand why we're still at the point of making pointless sequels to an already flogged to death franchise at a time when movie box office scores have generally been ****. CatelynnMarie 4,544
it's crazy to me that they're so locked in on continuing this franchise. when i think about disney in particular and some of their decision making with these franchises, sometimes i think potentially they do it to keep it "alive" due to more recent attractions or themed areas in the parks. to keep it relevant. with pirates though, this confuses me, because it was the first time they created a movie based off of one of their original attractions. it will likely always be relevant based on what the ride is. it's different than with Toy Story and the like. i am not sure how true that really is, but it is a thought that always passes through with each new sequel or remake. to continue this series after 3 was questionable at best. i'd love for it to be a great film, but i long for something new, meaningful, visually captivating, a good story. a new world to really enjoy, but that's also just with modern film in general
