@bxr I appreciate what you said (seed-branch, genome-dna, & so forth). Yes, I think it all comes down to where we draw personally the line/define the birth/original/start point of something (in this case, a song- in my opinion, the studio version, released as-is)

but yes, like you also say, technically we are all just digesting variations/photocopies of a negative we will never really see/hear for ourselves.

I know you want to give it more thought... but I think you & will both agree that Ghoulash summed it up succinctly with the "film vs theater" perspective, yes?
