Tired of Pop Stars Not Actually Being Progressive

Billie, Ariana and Olivia are vocal about it as far as I know but they’re not the ones that need to speak up. They do have a huge platform and they use it the way they can. 

The sad thing is that back in 2016 MAGA used to be a movement most people would fight against, now in 2026 it seems like MAGA is the big majority of the country, like it’s insane how big Tr*mp has gotten these years. We went from “not a chance he wins the election he’s ridiculous” to now truly being scared of the things he does because there’s a huge amount of people that are on his side now, even younger generations.

i don’t know what happened after these 10 years. One could think “oh but gaga is now 40, it’s time for younger people to do it”, but the younger popstars are even less vocal

Not only about politics, but about everything. Everything is pale on pop music right now 

See the interviews, no one talks about any important subject 

We had something during the grammy awards ceremony, but even then it was sosososo calculated. Everyone seems more worried than ever to express their opinions 

Or maybe their opinions really changed…

Personally I think it is the labels taking a temperature check and realizing the right wing has a lot more influence on the internet than it used to, and telling them to stay quiet. It's been quite revealing how fickle the good majority of them have turned out to be. Gar gets a pass for me because I'm biased, and she's done genuine good work the legacy of which carries to this day

I think some of them may be scared of becoming a target  / attacked

Have you seen his approval rating? MAGA is not as popular as it seems and this regime WILL fall. It will be defeated and justice will be brought on these crooks. I know patience is difficult to have right now but the midterms are EVERYTHING right now.

Yeah, Trump isn’t even popular within the MAGA movement and his net approval rating is like 30% rn.

Honestly that whole situation was terrifying. I (thankfully, as it happened) couldn’t get a ticket but was up all night waiting to find out if my friends were still alive. They cancelled my uni exam the next day because so many of us were still navigating it.

I don’t want to make assumptions or excuse anything but like, that trauma was intense. One of my best mates is still in therapy after what she saw. I wasn’t even there myself, but that experience will never leave me.

Personally I'm not bothered by who says or does what about issues. Never really was. At the end of the day most of what celebrities do with their platform is lip service and doesn't mean anything. They have a large platform- so what? At best they're used by fans as a mascot for their own opinions and no real change comes from it. It's 2026, celebrity worship needs to go the way of the dodo 100% and the energy invested in perstering a multi-millionaire to post a statement on social media needs to be directed at active involvement and urging everyday citizens to organize and take action because there are more of us than there are pop stars, and that is where real change will happen. not because someone with three Ferrari's in the garage of their mansion inside their gated and secured communities took a screenshot of their notes app and threw it on Instagram. Celebrities don't know us, we don't know them, and they don't actually care. it's lip service to keep you as a fan because they know what their fanbase WANTS them to say. Take these people off of pedestals.
