fyi i have been a fan of TS for several years now. And it is admirable how she got to re do all her albums and how her fanbase saw her through her vision i mean even the albums that were labelled as bad albums when they were released are appreciated now and the bad narrative around these albums has shifted.. and that’s really impressive to me.. gaga sadly could only dream of this .. even if she got newer generations ( which she is getting them) and they wanted to show love to for example let’s say chromatica or joanne, they will have some old LMs telling them how these albums sucks and how they’re “missteps” 🤣

In the 24hrs you've been on this site, there have been multiple threads debating Gaga songs and all have been completely civil and fun contests between different songs etc.

You've commented in none. This is the only thread youve been in.

You complain everyone is toxic and shouldn't be here because we're not Gaga fans. But your only contribution has been to argue with people in this one thread and call them homophobic slurs.

I also don't understand why people compare How Bad Do You Want Me? to Taylor Swift. Lady Gagas voice on that track is girlish and it's a love song, probably because of that. Probably it is written somewhere on Wikipedia. The song is rather The Fame-ish, has a similar attitude and feels light-hearted (the subject is serious).

Using them as a joke is different to using them as a targeted insult against members.

The synth production is very 1989/Reputation era Taylor, the “how bad, bad do u want me” hook is also very synth pop T. Swift. It’s incredibly easy to imagine her singing the song, imo, and it’s almost more surprising to me when people *don’t* hear it lol

But I've always said How Bad Do U Want Me fits the bubblegum synth pop world Gaga has been slipping into occasionally since TF with Eh Eh/Fashion of His Love which predates Taylor.

Totally get that! (Sorry to barge in.) It's casuals who seem to set out to ruin the joy of any new output, as in trying to convert people on a fan forum that Gaga's sucked since TFM for example, not anyone sharing their "negative" view on a certain song in a respectful, constructive way or voicing it and moving on that are the point of discussion here imho. I mean, I disliked Runway a little and loved Glamorous Life and said so while explaining why (as someone with a stan card basically, not a casual ).

But making entire threads criticizing and quite dismissively talking about every little aspect that bothers them about LG to derailing threads of new releases has been par for the course here (and the previous boards, yeah, I've been a lurker for a long time, became a fan in 2008). It's why I've taken short breaks reading here in the past when things became too absurd, as have many others. It's the ever-present breaking down of her and her character by non-fans that stick around that many have even admitted causes less engagement between releases here, like people saying they've taken many long breaks because of how bad this supposed "fansite" makes them feel, which is just sad. That's not healthy debate! 

Casuals sticking around acting like you described aren't meant to be the target here, Godess knows this site has emotional whiplash in its discourse but when done respectfully I don't see how expressing differing views is wrong, I agree with that!

Was probably listening to Upstairs at Eric’s by Yaz before you were born and can safely say that, while there’s one synth arpeggio in the second verse that is a reference to Only You, the song clearly owes much more to 2010s 80s synth pop revival by way of 90s + early aughts girl group pop than straight up 80s synth pop, which is a long-winded way of saying it sounds more like Taylor’s particular brand of synth pop. Not to mention the hooks are Taylor all the way down (“How bad, bad do u want me” followed by the stuttering vocal sample melody is straight off of Reputation, the “Oh oh, oh you love a good girl” hook feels straight off of 1989/Lover).
 

I don’t mean that as a dig because Gaga got started writing for other artists, admitted in the MAYHEM press cycle that she tends to imagine other artists singing the songs as she writes them, and I think she always manages to take whatever inspo she finds and spins it in her own way, but the influence is pretty undeniable on that one, imo.

I wish Gaga read this entire thread and release Joanne Act II with the country pop lead single "F*ck Gagadaily" since calling out her parasocial fansite will be finally considered as an unsafe choice. I bet Ajayll will definitely love it.

Does the fanbase really know what they mean by "experimental"? Seriously, even if she makes an experiment choice like making Disease a lead single, a song that sounded like nothing on the radio, half of this site still complained about it saying it's too loud and noisy. People here can't even tolerate songs like Killah and then they wish that Gaga was more "experimental". They like to overuse that word a lot, then give some random alternative acts as examples. If Gaga makes music like Bjork and Sophie, most of those people won't even listen to it.

They are people who are quickly disappointed when she doesn't dance in a music video or live performance. They want a 40 year old woman with fibromyalgia to dance and exhaust herself no matter what so that they can brag about the choreography on Twitter and tiktok.

And there are some people here who complain that she is not "controversial" enough so that she won't live in peace like in her early years. At this point, they don't really care about Stefani, they just want to brag that their fav is more edgy and sh*t to other parasocial pop girl stans.

Honestly I'd be more happy if she talks about Palestine, but for most people here it all comes down to Yaaas my fav has talked about Palestine, slay kween.
