Okay ummmm….gettin a little loose with that. That’s actually homophobic in that context. And I don’t care if you are one, but like….when you mean to use that slur in that negative of a way it reinforces a super eery and bad aura for some of us gays.

lets back off of that.

slur? i censored the word fans because i don't think people demanding their own production/music fantasies as if it's was their right should be called fans.

After she was so popular with the masses with A Star Is Born and the soundtrack, she brought a bright synthwave song like Stupid Love, i know that many casual listerd found that very unlogical.

She chose to return to making dance-pop after a successful image rebuilding era at a time when house & other throwback dance genres were making a comeback. It's not at all illogical, it's genuninely the smartest career move at that point. And we saw it was paying off on the charts and with critics, it was her highest charting hit since TEOG in the US and first top ten debut since 2013. Critics all praised her for returning to her signature sound and multiple compared it to various 2008-2013 era deep cuts. Even the mid reviews were saying "Gaga can do this sound in her sleep".

Acting like Stupid Love was some massively risky experimental move that risked alienating the casuals/GP is a total rewriting of history devoid of fact or logic.

The reconstruction of her career worked with mass appeal and ballads (A Star Is Born) She could have pushed this evolution with soft rock. I can only say that there were also head-shaking voices who didn't understand that she was making dance-pop again. At that time there were many people in Europe who thought so. But in 2020 there were also many 80s-inspired melancholic synthpop, but Lady Gaga focused on bright music such as Stupid Love and Rain On Me. There was no more melancholy after ASIB - a radical change that shows that she uses her own head, I'm sure there were internal voices that would have bet on taking a different direction after her image with Star Is Born was perfect.

The reconstruction worked because it softened her and removed her from being scene as a drunk/drugged up mess and constant source of provocative or pretentious performances.

I'd love to meet these Europeans who couldn't understand her making the most popular form of music in Europe that is literally her signature sound.
By the time we got Stupid Love on Feb 25th, 2020 was already being defined by the resurgence of Disco pop.
We had Don't Start Now/Blinding Lights/Adore You/Watermelon Sugar/What A Man Gotta Do/Say So/Physical/React charting before Stupid Love did.

And this idea she uses her own head? She spent the whole of the TCB tour telling us that the pop sound of Chromatica was forced on her by her friends and she didn't want to even make the album.

Also side note I am still kind of mad she has not rebuked the Zionist allegations (I don’t think she is) but how hard is it for her to say Free Palestine and **** ICE? And why is the excuse always “it doesn’t matter if she does or not”. I was under the assumption Lady Gaga was a bold person who said things because they were right, not because they were popular.

i mean she literally works with and hangs out with a lot of zionist / very pro israel people lol, thats just the music industry in general tho, its not even specific to her and u could say the same thing about tons of singers. but if ur waiting for her to suddenly speak out against israel or zionism i think ur gonna wait forever tbh 😭 especially when u look at how close shes been with people like bill gates, clinton, biden etc

well, yes and no, because I can't imagine any other pop star making songs like Disease and Abracadabra

Not main popstars, but if you go away from mainstream music you can find a lot of heavy dance electronic crossover music. Artists like Charli, Sophie, Rina, Madonna back in the days and now on C2 etc were and are much bolder than Gaga in the music itself

At that time Pop has already changed, but she shot a fancy freak video to introduce Chromatica. She could have made it a lot easier for herself after A Star Is Born. The masses thought they now had a new ballad queen ala Adele - but Lady Gaga had her own vision. Chromatica showed that she is loyal to her fanbase and does not focus on mass diva/ballad queen Image - to release dance-pop again, for the masses felt soulless, but she stuck to her DNA. I find it was a brave decision.

I'd say the biggest risk of Chromatica was releasing that many half baked songs, especially something blah like Stupid Love as a LEAD single :triggered:  we all knew it was coming considering the fans were pestering her for pop music for nearly a decade at that point.

I wonder when we fans says experimental, do we expect like Sophie beats? it will sound so fresh from her but then we will be complaining we cannot dance and sing along at concerts etc.

I think Gaga will just be making whatever she likes. Instead of complete experimental, I actually love to see Stefani's melody is still there, like in Glamorous Life.

ARTPOP was basic EDM)

It really wasn't though. Her first 4 albums are nowhere near safe sonically.

Experimental can come from any type of musical genre, not just neccsarily SOPHIE or "hyperpop" :huntyga:

How can you say she played safe when she had that funk rock element in MAYHEM? Ain't no way.

Direct your eyes to Katy Parry, that is what played safe looks like.

Hmm, I still can't hear the artists you're summing up singing Disease or Abracadabra

I am so tired of 🚬s every time gaga takes a break for herself or to create something.. they take it as an opportunity to insult all her work.

This whole thread is just a bunch of nonsense because how are you saying this after mayhem requiem? Nothing was safe about it and NO one could have done something so genius like that she was playing live instruments while singing live like no one is doing this.

abracadabra performance at the grammy 2026 was NOT safe. And Mayhem being a bold genre blending album from rock pop funk disco like idk what yall want her to do exactly naming people like charli xcx who throws an overdone auto-tone vocals on a 2 minute song repeating the same meaningless words nothing remarkable about that lol. Gaga ALWAYS  has been a mainstream artist making POP music since her first single just dance nothing wrong with that and it still didn’t stop her from exploring sounds.

even politically she isn’t safe either she is the only popstar who still talks about trans rights * her speech at the 2025 grammys* and she talked about immigration rights at the mayhem ball.

i think yall just bored and need to just let go of all of this if you’re not satisfied then it’s not for you. she outgrown yall. She isn’t obligated to make the music *you* want because it’s HER career. and all of this is starting to come off as misogyny seeing yall still downplaying her hard work EVERY time.

Charli XCX just released her most half baked underwhelming album with music fashion and films even her fanbase are disappointed with it,  and madonna always followed trends lol
