It fits the character with the cane perfectly which could represent Gaga's own physical (and mental) injuries. A lot of us will know which ones to refer to. It fits some of the songs too. Sonically, I love how the album goes from a more dark/ grunge/ industrial rock/ techno vibe (Disease, Abra, GOE, Perfect Celebrity, CSTH) into a much more groovy/ funk/ disco sounds (VIY, Killah, Zombieboy) and even 80s (with Lovedrug). It's like Gaga made a creature of Frankenstein of an album, with all her different styles. It also perfectly demonstrates her infamous "not afraid to reference" speech. I love the lore but I think this is reading into Mayhem as a title too much. I think her explanation of it was what it was meant to be.

I think Mayhem is quite on brand with the themes of her career and the songs imo. Precisely why I think it’s too safe. i want Gaga to take an actual ****ing risk again sorry lol

But some songs do sound like the early Gaga? Also, not you pretending The Fame or TFM arent safe as well. ALGAYDO 35,160
“mayhem” is perfect as a title for this project because, well, it’s basically a mixtape of different genres and styles of music. It fits perfectly imo

Jokes aside, "MAYHEM" is perfect. The only thing I'd say is that I'm kinda tired of the one-word-but-shocking type of album titles. I dream about the day long titles come back. For example I remember her during early interviews for the promo roll out saying "a series of gothic dreams" or "what's in a gothic dream" and thinking wow that would be a nice title A Series Of Gothic Dreams Edited 3 hours ago by elegidadedios
Sneaky Oliver 22,988
I don’t think Happy Mistake is strong enough for an album title, I like Mayhem now but I didn’t like it when it was announced i usually don’t like one-word titles unless it’s something conceptual like ARTPOP or Chromatica

warhol killah 9,145
The only thing I dislike (recently) with her solo albums is that they're all one worded since ARTPOP. Like give me a 3-word title. a GAGA sound fanatic ✴ graphic design
